Now faith is the substance (realization) of things hoped for, the evidence (conviction) of things not seen – Hebrews 11:1
Our faith is described in two words, confidence and certainty. The beginning point of faith is believing in God’s character, He is what He says, the ending point of faith is believing in God’s promises.
Now faith is something you can’t see. Substance is physical matter of which a thing consists, it could be a consistency of something, and that is what we have in God. He is faithful no matter if we’re faithful or unfaithful. God never changes neither does His word. What God has promised, He will make sure that it is manifested in the behalf of the individual He has spoken His word over or to. The God we serve has feelings, He can hear as well as see. He knows what comes into our thoughts before the thought is completely thought out. His concerned is about His people and their well-being.
When reading the Bible, God’s people went through many difficulties, but He never forsook them even when they were unfaithful to Him. He allowed difficulties to come into their life when they disobeyed His instructions. He also allow difficulties to come to those who were faithful. Job was man who loved God and hated evil, he lived a life that was so pleasing to God until God allowed Satan to test Job’s faith. Now, no where do we read, Job asked ” Why is this happening to me”. Job knew who he had faith in and it wasn’t what he was going through. Test and trials doesn’t mean one has sinned, but it could be, God is allowing Satan to test our faith.
