A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things -Matthew 12:35
God has given us the opportunity to be the treasurer of our heart. What we place in our hearts will be manifested in our actions and behavior. What we say reveals what’s in our heart. If we allow the Holy Spirit to fill us with new attitudes and motives our speech and behavior will represent the presence of the Lord being in our life.
You can’t get an orange from an apple tree neither can one produce good when evil is plaguing their hearts. Only the Holy Spirit can change the heart of someone, and He can’t do that if we will not allow Him . We were born into a world of sin even though sin was not in us at the time of birth. If we don’t have a person who reverences God to mentor us through life at an early age, the majority of the time the individual will learn the behavior of the secular world which is the adversary of God’s righteousness.
A person isn’t born evil or wicked, but their environment will mold them into the image of their environment. This is why God has instructed parents to train their children in the ways of the Lord. Training them is not beating them over the head with scriptures day and night, nor is it telling them they are going to hell because they aren’t living to the principals of the Bible, but if scripture is shown through precepts and example accompanied with love, they will eventually seek the Lord themselves. People make up a community as well as the world, without people there wouldn’t be any crime, there wouldn’t be any addictions or abuse.
The more people whose hearts have been changed by the Holy Spirit, the less crime or other chaotic behaviors would be diminished. Jesus came to do the will of the Father, and when He’s residing in our heart, we too will live to do the will of the Father. The word of God is spirit and its the truth, the more we place His word in our heart, the more we will begin to desire to be more like His word. This is why our daily prayer should be supplication for people to receive salvation with sanctification.
