Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethern, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently – 1st Peter 1:22
Real love is unconditional love, it involves selfless giving, therefore, a self-centered person can’t truly love. God’s love and forgiveness frees us to take our eyes off ourselves and to meet other’s needs. The person that is always crabby, fault-finding, and irritable may just need someone to show them genuine love. As Christians, we should be the one that can give them what they need.
Love is the first on the list of the Fruit of the Spirit. Unconditional love should be in the heart of every Christian. This is why without the Holy Spirit residing in our mortal bodies, we can’t do it on our own. We need help from the Comforter, who walks besides us to assist us in what we need as Christians. When the Holy Spirit resides in our human spirit, He molds and gently draws us closer to God. Our affection will be focused on things above. Our desire is to become what He desires. His love will be engraved in hearts for everyone, we will love everyone unconditional. Love purifies our mind, heart and spirit.
