Behold, how good and how pleasant is for brethren to dwell together in unity – Psalm 133:1

Harmony is something that is missing in the Christian community. As much as we read and quote scriptures, we still haven’t taken it to heart. The disharmony in the body of Christ and in the church is the work of Satan and his co-hosts.

Division tears down relationships whether it’s in the community, family, co-workers, spouses, friends, church and the body of Christ. Division is a spirit that comes from Satan, and when division is in operation, it may be other spirits in operation as well. Satan is like a bully, he doesn’t send one spirit to bring chaos, but several other spirits. When there is harmony in the church, it makes the church a positive example to the world and helps draws others to us. Harmony help us cooperate as a body of believers as God meant us to be. Harmony renews and revitalizes the ministry because there is less tension to sap our energy.

Satan doesn’t want to see a ministry be successful, if it’s successful, this will mean, he has lost ground on souls. When there is division there is a detachment which causes dysfunction. The ministry will and can operate, but the impact it could have, is missing because of division.  If there’s division in the choir, the anointing that would be in the songs is not there, because when division is there tension is there. The song that would have set someone free from bondage has been watered down and not able to affect them because of division. Division is a spirit and it comes to keep the body of Christ from fulfilling its purpose.

If division is in the church, division will work through people, not auxiliaries. Where there is division, there is also:

• Bitterness, Resentment, Unforgiveness
• Anger, Contention, Hurt
• Judging, Criticism, Fault-finding
• Rejection, Insecurity
• Jealousy, Envy, Distrust
• Persecution, Confusion, Skepticism
• Procrastination, Lying
• Ego, Self-righteousness
• Haughtiness, Frustration, and Irritability.

All of these actions are manifested because of division. When any of these actions are operating in the ministry, they need to be confronted, if not, the ministry will never reach the potential it should be.

Unity brings the body of Christ together to fight against the same adversary. Unity brings the anointing. Unity brings the Spirit of God into the ministry, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Gifts of the Spirit will be in operation, sickness and diseases have to leave because of the anointing. Unity will bring unconditional love for one another, and when love is abounding in the hearts of the people, division can’t enter and bring other spirits to divide and separate the church.  To destroy division, the spirit must be dwelt with through prayer.
