In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the knowledging of the truth – 2nd Timothy 2:25
People have the right to decide whether or not they want to accept Christianity. We can’t make anyone accept Jesus, nor should we hound them about receiving salvation. Pushing people to accept Christianity only pushes them away from salvation. We’re not to condone their sins, but through loving kindness draw them to the Savior.
Repentance is God’s gift to mankind, but there will be those who will oppose the gift. In order for someone to receive salvation, the Spirit of God must draw them to Him. This is why it is important for us to be led by the Spirit of God and not ourselves. When God softens the heart of a person, they’re ready to receive the word of God and salvation, but when He hasn’t drawn them, they will oppose the word of God. When we’re led by the Spirit of God, He will direct us to those whose heart has been soften to receive salvation. When He draws them, it will not be just for that day, but it will be a life change for the rest of their life.
