Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and were thieves do not break through nor steal – Matthew 6:19-20.
God is not our physical features, but is within us. Three things God never intended for man to possess are sin, sickness and death, but because man was in God’s spiritual image, God gave him a right to choose. Man made the wrong choice and sin became dominion in the earth’s realm.
The believer’s attention should be towards treasures in heaven. There is life after death, and we choose where we decide to live for eternity. If we choose heaven, our life must come submitted to the word of God prior to our destination. God have always rewarded His people for their faithfulness here on earth as well as when we reach our final destination. Satan tries to stop our focus by bringing different attacks on our body, marriage, children, finances and sometimes in the church. He tries to keep us focused on how much money to make, how much education we can accomplish. Don’t focus on the attack, keep focusing on the promises of God. We can’t allow nothing or anyone to become our god. We have to set our affections on things above and when we do so, we will not allow nothing or anyone from keeping our goal to please the Father!
