God Will Deliver His People
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt – Exodus 12:13.
The Passover commemorated God’s deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, but it also pointed to the coming of the Deliverer and Savior of all people. The Passover lamb had to be without blemish, a male and young. It had to be examined four days from the selection to the sacrifice, and it had to be slain in public. None of its bones was to be broken, finally, its blood on the Israelites’ doorposts was a sign that God should pass over and not destroy that family’ s firstborn.
The children of Israel had been enslaved by the Egyptian for hundreds of years, and God heard their cry for help and sent them a deliverer by the name of Moses. Moses went to Pharaoh on many occasions asking for the people of Israel to be set free, but Pharaoh wouldn’t let the people go. God tried to get the attention of Pharaoh by sending the plagues of blood, frogs, flies, lice. Plagues on the cattle, plague of boils, hail, locusts and darkness, and rather than letting the people go, Pharaoh’s heart was harden.
Finally, the death of the first-born of everything in Egypt would die including the first-born of the animals. God informed Moses that around midnight He would go out into the midst of Egypt. He was instructed to kill a lamb and apply the blood on the door post of their homes, and as God passed through where He saw the blood, the destroyer wouldn’t enter.
Many of God’s people are still in Egypt, better known as the world. Pharaoh is known as drugs and alcohol addiction. There is adultery, fornication, and individuals confused of their gender identity. There are molesters and incestors, abusers of women and children. God is still calling for Egypt to let His people go. God’s people can never go so deep into sin that the hand of God can’t reach them. He’s looking for a people who will say, I will go and lead them to you. He’s looking for a people that will pray and fast for lost souls. He’s looking for a people that will be an example to the unbeliever. Satan has people believing their sin is so bad or so deep that God will never forgive them. God is long-suffering, God is merciful, God is a forgiving God. God is waiting for His people to cry out for help in every area of their life. There is nothing to little or to big where God can’t answer the prayer.
Whatever area in your life you need deliverance in, confess it to God, ask Him to forgive and to deliver you. Pray until God answers the prayer and thank Him in advance for your deliverance even before you see it, even before you feel it, even before you experience it, give thanks! God will deliver, God will set you free!
