And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good , and acceptable , and perfect, will of God – Romans 12:2.
How can we avoid the snare of negative thinking? We can change our thinking by what we place in our minds. If our minds is filled with the word of God, when negative thinking tries to influence our thoughts, our mind will replace it with the word of God.
We can be transformed, changed from having negative attitude to having positive attitudes by spending time in the Word of God. We can train ourselves to think in line with God, and not as the world think. Take for instance, a computer has to be programmed before it will function, if the computer crashes, if would have to be reprogrammed. A computer will only do what it is programmed to do. In a sense, our mind is the greatest computer made. God put it together with memory banks to store information, what we place in our memory banks is what we will recall.
For example, if you grew up in a home where your parents were negative and critical, then you have probably dealt with being negative and critical yourself. The good news is that you can take the Word of God and reprogram your mind. As the Word of God instills positive thinking, it will override negative thinking. We can use the Word of God to delete our old way of thinking and replace it with a new way of thinking to help us conquer negative thinking.
