Conversion

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new – 2nd Corinthians 5:17.

True Christians are brand new people in the inside. The Holy Spirit gives them new life, and they are not the same anymore. We’re not reformed, rehabilitated or reeducated, we’re new creations, living in vital union with Christ.

The results for Jesus’ death for the believer and the believer’s death with Him. Because believers are united with Jesus both in His death and resurrection, they participate in the new creation. That is they receive the benefits of being restored by Christ to what God had originally created them to be. A believer’s life should change, because he or she is being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. Instead of evaluating others with the values of the world, believers look at this world through the eyes of faith.

When we accept salvation, we should accept sanctification which causes us to develop spiritually. Salvation without sanctification will cause the believer to try to live in two worlds. This is why many Christians, continue to live according to the world’s system whether than living according to the written word of God. We are held responsible whether we’re familiar with the word of God or not, there is no excuse why anyone shouldn’t know the written Word of God that is professing to be a Christian.

Jesus gave instructions for the believer to die to their desire so that they can produce fruit (Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn (grain) of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone, but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit – John 12:24). When a seed dies, it produces fruit, life comes by death. This principle is true not only in nature, but it is also true spiritually. Jesus was speaking first about Himself, He is the grain of wheat, His death would produce much fruit and would result in many living for God. When we become like Jesus, the sons of God, we too, will die to our will and will desire God’s will to be done. True Christianity is being baptized into His death (Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection – Romans 6:3-5)  Just as Jesus produced fruit for the kingdom of God, we should do likewise, and we can only do that by salvation and allowing Jesus to sanctify us to Himself.

Many want to live for God and live according to the standards of the world which is Satan’s world (In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God, should shine unto them – 2nd Corinthians 4:4). We can’t live according to our will or the world’s system and profess Christianity. Many Christians’ minds and hearts are blinded by Satan’s influences There should be a difference between the believer and the unbeliever, believers produce godly fruit, religion brings forth paganism and religion doesn’t produce good fruit (Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil {bad} fruit – Matthew 7:17). Their fruit refers not only to their actions of their lives, but also to the doctrine they proclaim. A person speaking in the name of the Lord is to be tested by the doctrine of scripture they both speak and live by. We should examine ourselves to the Word of God and see if our lives are producing godly fruit or ungodly fruit, we reproduce what’s in us!
