For we are laborers (God’s fellow workers) together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building – 1st Corinthians 3:9).
Labors are given a specific task they also receive wages generally speaking for the secular world; then there is the spiritual world where God has chosen people He can rely on to work with Him to bring others to His kingdom. Laborers work together they’re, not in a competition neither are they trying to take the glory from God nor influence people not to want to be chosen of God to be in His kingdom.
A garden can consist of a variety of fruit, vegetables, and flowers; they grow together. The Gardner checks to make sure the plants are growing by feeding them, watering, and checking for diseases or bugs that would kill the plant. Certain flowers and vine branches have to be pruned for them to grow. The gardener checks to see if the flower or vine needs to be pruned and cut away all that is not producing. Every plant will produce after its kind. You will never see fruit producing vegetables or vice versa. It’s the same spiritually, Christians reproduce after their kind whether it’s in holiness, hypocrisy or carnality. The kingdom of God is like a garden where there are a variety of plants that need to be taken care of by the gardener in order to grow.
Spiritually, God has given each Christian a task that he or she has to perform, but when each Christian performs his or her task, they all come together to build the kingdom of God. In God’s kingdom, there is a variety of people who have been chosen of God to be His people. God does not discriminate, but He has given His people instructions in how to serve Him and worship Him (God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth – John 4:24). Jesus Christ makes worship a matter of the heart, truth is what is in harmony with the nature and will of God. There is a water baptism and there is a baptism of the Holy Spirit, water baptism is an outward express of one’s faith, Holy Spirit baptism is when one has been connected by the Spirit to be joined together with God and Jesus (Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him – John 14:23).
Many receive salvation but they don’t go any further than that. A hypocrite and a carnal minded Christian is one willingly lives contradictory to the Word of God. Born-again Christian is one whose spirit and heart has been regenerated by the Spirit of God. They no longer desires the things the world has to offer they become spiritually minded whereas the hypocrite and carnal minded Christian lives according to the flesh meaning they live to the old nature of sin (For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God – Romans 8:6-8). If the mind and heart have not been renewed by the Word of God the individually will attend church, give their tithes and offering but will continue live according to fleshly desires.
The Bible is the instruction manual for the Christian (For whatsoever things were written aforetime [beforehand] were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope – Romans 15:4). In order to follow the instructions and learn what God expects out of us, we must read the manual and then submit to its instructions. God plants us a gardener but it is our responsibility to seek out the Word of God to grow. Once we have grown spiritually then we can reach others with the Word of God through word or by our lifestyle.
