Safe In God’s Love

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us – Romans 8:31.

Life brings issues and problems along with the different attacks from Satan. We also go through mountain and valley experiences to strengthen our faith in God. When things are going well, most people believe that God loves them, but when test and trials come they feel as though God does not love them or He doesn’t care about what they are going through.  God’s love for His people is everlasting, it’s not just when things are going well but in the bad times as well.

God works out all things,  not just isolated incidents for our good.  This does not mean that all that happens to us is good.  Evil is prevalent, but God is able to turn it around for our long-range good.  God is not working to make us happy, but to fulfill His purpose.  God wants to see the Fruit of the Spirit manifestation in our lives and sometimes in order for us to produce fruit, we will go through pain, suffering,  and disappointments. As being the children of God, His character and attributes should be in manifestation; love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

What we go through will bring out the best or the worse in us. Those who have not been rooted and grounded in the Word of God will most likely have the worse of their character on showcase whereas those who have a diligent and prayer life will be placing their trust in God and not what they see or feel, so they will be at peace during the test and trial.  Whenever we’re going through test and trials as well as attacks from Satan, we must keep in mind how much the Father loves us.  When a person loves you they will not harm you; God’s love for us is much greater than any human love. God allow test and trials to come into our lives to strengthen our faith, strengthen our prayer life, strengthen us to fast, strengthen our study of the Word of God.

Since God has done everything from foreknowledge to glorification for us, all adversaries are powerless; they may form a weapon, but it will not prosper. Just as God uses people and anoints them, Satan anoints his people and try to influence the saints by being the accuser of the brother or sister. Using jealousy, envy, offenses, and fault-finding; this comes within the church, it doesn’t come from the unbeliever, those outside the church. When we come against each other, we’re coming against Jesus, this is why we have been admonished to know, it’s not flesh and blood we’re fighting against, but principalities, wickedness in high places. Ungodly spirits that influence a weaker brother or sister.

Christians will have hardship in many forms, persecution, illness, abandonment by loved ones, but it is impossible to be separated from Jesus Christ. The love the Son and the Father has for His people.  Even in our most prayerful life, we’re still weak and sometimes sin through our thoughts, beliefs, and behavior toward others will sometime raise doubt in our hearts about our acceptance before God.  Did He hear our prayer or will He answer our prayer?  God’s love for His people is unconditional, He loves His people, not the sin they commit.

God loved His people so much until He gave His only begotten Son to die for the sins of His people. When you pray or when you don’t, Jesus is interceding on your behalf. God loves you just as you are, now this does not mean, He doesn’t want you to grow spiritually, this does not mean He wants you to continue to practice sin. Desire to grow spiritually and as you do so, He will give you the desire of your heart, He wants you to love Him as He loves you.
