Love Not the World…

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man (woman) love the world, the love of the Father is not in him (her) 1st John 2:15.

It’s amazing how people who confess to be Christians profess they the love God and Jesus, but refuse to submit to the written Word of God. When you truly love someone you deliberately try to please them, it should be even more so with our heavenly Father. As Christians, we should take time and look at the love the Father had for us by giving His only begotten Son to reconcile us back to Him. Then look at the love Jesus had for the Father and for us to give His life.Jesus didn’t die in order for professing Christians to continue to live a sinful life. The purpose of Jesus dying was to deliver Christians from the power Satan had over them.  When one truly repents of their sins not because of guilt or being caught, but heartfelt repentance brings about a change in the heart of the individual.

In order to check ourselves, we need to check our lifestyle according to the Bible and don’t compare ourselves with other professing Christians. Sadly to say, many professing Christians live according to the world standards and not the standards of God. How can one know whether or not he or she is living according to God’s standards? By reading and studying the written Word of God and applying what we read to our heart and our behavior. It’s a lot of good moral people, but being moral without the Spirit of the living God living within ones being does not change the heart nor will it give the individual access to heaven. Jesus is the only One that can change the heart to love God and submit to the Father’s written Word (Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them – Hebrews 7:25).  When one truly repent of their sins and ask the Father for forgiveness and ask Him to save them, the Spirit of Jesus will enter their being and give them the power they need to overcome the sins of the world.

Knowing that the Father loves everyone, but He does not love the sin nor will He accept sin into His kingdom. Either we will live according to His instructions or we will live professing we love Jesus and on our way to hell (And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life – Revelation 21:27). This is why Jesus instructed the believer to be born of the Spirit (Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God – John 3:5).

Born of water implies natural, physical birth, Spirit refers to a supernatural spiritual birth; this is when the heart of the individual has been changed by the Spirit of God. If one is still desiring the things of the world, he or she has not truly given themselves to the Father. Take time to read and study the Word of God and see whether or not you’re living according to God’s Word or your will.
