Not Without Hope

Not Without Hope

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. – Romans 5:1-2

Peace here is not a subjective feeling of peace, rather, this peace is the state of being at peace instead of war. The hostility between God and the believer has ceased. The believer has been reconciled to God. To have access means to approach as if by introduction into a king’s throne room. Believers have been granted admission to stand before God. Even though they were once rebels, they do not have to face His judgement. Instead they approach His throne in the realm of grace.

We were once enemies of God, but through Jesus those who accept His salvation is no longer an adversary, but a son or daughter of God. Salvation literally means, we will not receive the wrath of God, we’re safe. But God’s desire for mankind is to sanctify themselves to Him through His Son. Sanctification, means to be set apart, separated from worldly actions and desires.

If any man therefore purge himself  from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor sanctified, and meet for the Master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart – 2nd Timothy 2:21-22.

Jesus has empowered every Christian to live a life that represents the godliness of God, but the Christian has to choose to live according to the power that has been given them.

According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord – 2nd Peter 1:3.

The power to grow doesn’t come from within us, but from God. Because we don’t have the resources to live full of “glory and virtue”, God makes us partakers of the divine nature to keep us from sin and help us to live for Him. When we’re born again, God by His Spirit empowers us with His own moral goodness.

Knowledge of God and Jesus is what’s lacking in most professing Christians. This is why some Christians can continue to live a life as an unbeliever, but yet they are professing Christianity. We get to know God and Jesus by reading the Bible, then asking for help to apply what we read into our lives. Prayer is essential for spiritual growth and connection with our Father. Its us communicating with our Father, and the more we practice it, the more we will be sensitive when He begins to speak to us through His Word as well as His spoken Word. Fasting also help us by cleanses our mind, will and emotions from ungodly desires and actions. Faith to receive salvation is more than belief, it must result in actions growth in Christian character, and moral discipline. God empowers and enables us, but He also assigns us the responsibility of learning and growing.

Christianity is not as hard to live as many say it is, we just have to have a mind and desire to want to adhere to God’s written instructions. Accomplishing success in this world and poverty for the world to come is without godly wisdom. The effort we apply ourselves to do in this world, we should have the same tenacity to apply ourselves to the things of God. Take time, read the Bible, get a spiritual understanding, pray daily, get to know God by reading about Him and learning His instructions. We’re not without hope, we just need to learn what has been given us.

We’re spiritual beings living within a body that decades after death, but the spirit of man continues to live whether the spirit enters heaven or hell it never dies. Satan influence most people that true Christianity is boring, but it’s the best life without regrets. No matter what we have done in life or is still practing, there is help, and our help comes from the Lord.
