When He Come, Will, You Be Ready?
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be – Revelation 22:12.
No one knows when the Lord will return, but He Himself has declared that He is returning and when He returns He will be rewarding the believer according to their works (For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad – 2nd Corinthians 5:10). The Bible admonishes Christian to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is our reasonable service.
Dedication to the will of God refers to His purpose for the life of the believer. It implies His guidance or direction in all of life’s decisions. Dedication is an act of surrender or submission to His will for our lives whereby we become a “living sacrifice”. When we seek to discern the will of God we must also be committed to doing the will of God as it is revealed in the Word of God. The Bible is like a GPS for the believer, it guides them in the direction of God, and make them detour from sin.
Many Christians have abstained from sexual sins but still bound by strongholds of envy, jealousy, fault-finders, spiritual discrimination, greed, and covetousness. Many have walked away from prayer and fasting because of their busy schedules. This may appear as small sins, but there is no small or large sin, according to the Word of God, sin is a sin if it’s contrary to what God has instructed the believer to do or not to do. Kindness is hard to find in the household of faith. We say we love one another, but yet we can’t seat together because of offenses or we have certain Christians we befriend and ignore others.
Spiritual gifts without the Fruit of the Spirit is not powerful enough to destroy stronghold in our lives as well as others. God has given everyone a gift or gifts, but the Fruit of the Spirit is growing into maturity. The Fruit of the Holy Spirit can be produced only by God through our submission to Him and His Word. Jesus will be returning and we must be prepared in spirit soul and body for His return.
We have a book we can examine ourselves by, and as we are truthful to ourselves where we’re missing it, God is there to assist us to submit to the instructions if we have a willing heart. Take time to read and study the Word of God, be willing to submit to its instructions. Welcome God to do what He desires in you and through you. Build your spiritual house in prayer, confession, and submission to the Word of God. Then will you be excited about the coming of Jesus, ready or not He is coming!
