Don’t Fear

Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness -Isaiah 41:10.

Fear is something everyone will experience at one time or another, but fear is something that God didn’t give to His people. There is nothing going in your life or the world that is a surprise to God, nothing happens without His awareness. Fear enters when we place our faith and trust in what we see, hear or feel rather than placing our trust in God.

God is a very present help in the time of trouble; He will walk His people through whatever comes into their lives. Faith has to overcome fear, you can’t have fear and faith at the same time; one or the other will rule. Faith has to be placed in God and His Word, apart from the Lord there is no hope. There is nothing bigger or stronger than the God of creation. Whether it’s a sickness, broken relationship, famine, virus or wars, nothing is greater than God.

When one has submitted themselves to God and His Word fear has no place in them because they know Greater is He that lives within them than he that lives in the world. Sickness, disease, pestilence, viruses, God is Greater and will always come to the needs of those who place their trust in Him. Throughout the Bible, God has instructed His people not to fear. Not to fear is not saying be foolish, for instance, you know walking down a dark alley that is known for gangs or people being mugged would be foolish to walk through saying you will trust God. First of all, you’re tempting God and being foolish.

In order to be protected by God, we must place our trust in Him, submit ourselves to His Word and submit ourselves to those who have authority over us on earth. The purpose of human government is to uphold the good and punish the evil. Right and wrong are determined by the state. The Christian citizen is to fear and obey the government as long as the government does not demand citizens to violate God’s Word. Governmental officials hold office by virtue of God’s appointment and are primarily the servants of God in their offices whether they know it or not, as well as they may not believe in God, but they were appointed by God in the offices they hold.

If one has truly submitted themselves to God and His written Word death has no authority, once they die they are gone to be with the Father, leaving this world and the dysfunctioning because of sin. Don’t allow fear to torment you, don’t allow it to be your god!
