Spiritual Gifts (Gift of Faith)

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administration (ministries), but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations (activities), but is the same God which worketh all in all – 1st Corinthians 12:4-6

Gifts of the Spirit is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit living within every Christian whether they are Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran or Pentecostal; it’s the same Holy Spirit that lives within each Christian. There isn’t a different Holy Spirit for each denomination.

The Gift of Faith is a remarkable gift, There is no human energy exercised in this gift just like with all of the other spiritual gifts. The faith we’re talking about is different from saving faith. Faith is the greatest of the three gifts of power. The gift of faith is different from the Fruit of the Spirit faith. Fruit is the characteristic of God that grows in the believer and establishes him in spiritual character. The Gift of Faith is one who possesses this faith and believes God in such a way that He honors their word as His own and miraculously brings it to pass.

Faith is like prayer, it’s something that is easily confused in the minds of some people. A lot of times we just put it in the same sack, mix it up and shake it all out together. But we must differentiate between saving faith, general faith that every believer has, and this special faith that God gives on certain occasions.

An example of this gift is when a lame man was healed through the Gift of Faith being manifested through Peter at the gate of the temple that is called Beautiful (Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee; In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk – Acts 3:6). This man had never walked, he would be carried to the gate to ask for alms daily, but when Peter saw him, he told the man to look upon him and his companions. Peter had faith to believe in the man’s healing whereas the man was looking for money.

The Gift of Faith is given and will operate through the believer who has been filled with the Holy Spirit and has been given the gift of Faith. Everyone doesn’t have this gift, every believer has been given a gift from God, and the gift is to be used to edify and bless the body of Christ. Every gift that was manifested through the Apostles can be manifested through today’s believers when we seek God with our whole hearts. When we choose to live according to God’s written Word, then will the gifts be manifested to bless the church.

God is the same God that manifested Himself through the Apostles, prior to Jesus’ ascension, He gave spiritual gifts to the believer for the edifying of the Body of Christ (And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets, and some evangelist; and some pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ – Ephesians 4:11-12). These gifts didn’t die with the Apostles, just as they were submitted and committed to Jesus, we too must be submitted and committed in order for the gifts to come into manifestation. Where the church of believers are gathered, these gifts should be in operation, and when the non-believer attends the church they will see the manifestation of God. These gifts manifest where there is a need and where there is faith and submission to the Holy Spirit to operate as He wants to.

When sin is removed from the camp, talking about the body of believers, unity, and humbleness, then will we see these gifts being manifested.
