Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise, therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord. 1st Chronicles 22: 19.
We’re the body of Christ, we should be vessels of honor. We are the church and we should be a house of prayer, our vessels should be holy as we bring them into the house of God for worship. We build our spiritual house by prayer, reading and studying the Word of God and fasting to bring ourselves as living sacrifices to God.Although God loves us, and He has washed away our sin does not mean we should go back and dig them up and continue to live a life of sin. There’s a teaching one can do whatever they want and still be saved which is a false doctrine. Many are gravitating to this teaching because one does not have to be submitted or cause their lives to be disciplined. The God we worship and serve is holy and He expects His people to live a life of holiness (Now, therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine. And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These the words which thou shall speak unto the children of Israel – Exodus 19:5-6). The children of Israel has just been freed from slavery in Egypt, they were camping at Mout Sinai. God called Moses and gave him the instructions for the Israelites to live by. This dispensation of Law meant government by the Mosaic covenant. This covenant was given to Israel in order to reveal sin and death.
The Law contained three elements (1) Commandments revealing the righteousness of God; (2) Judgement expressing social requirements; (3) Ordinances directing the religious life of Israel. No one was ever saved by keeping the Law, it was simply God’s moral guideline for Israel. Israel was the name ascribed to the descendants of Jacob as well as to the social-political organization (ideally the twelve tribes who traced their origins to Jacob’s sons) in the Old Testament times Israel constituted the “people of God”. Israel was the Jewish nation, and so are we as the spiritual Jew (But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God – Romans 2:29). Just as God wanted the Israelites to follow His instructions, He also wants the spiritual Jew to follow His instructions, if we’re saying He’s our Father then we should be submitted to His instructions, but we can’t follow the instructions if we don’t know the instructions.
Attending Bible Study, Sunday School as well as individual studying of the Word of God is the foundation for building a spiritual house. We can’t build our spiritual house on fame, profession, education or money; only through the Word of God and our submission to His Word. Many don’t believe, but Jesus is soon to come, and we must be prepared for His coming. When Jesus first came into the world, He came with meekness and gentleness, but His second coming will be that of the wrath of God (Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance (end) of all them that dwell in the land – Zephaniah 1:18. God spoke through the prophet Zephaniah the destruction that was going to come upon the land because of their wickedness, and He’s also has spoken by the prophet John while he was on the Isle of Patmos (But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death – Revelation 21:8). This is not for those who have followed the instructions of God, but for those who rejected and disobeyed the instructions of God’s written Word.
In order to escape the wrath, one must come submissive to the Word of God. Sure, God loves us with an everlasting love, but His love will not stop His discipline on the disobedience. Pray, read and study the Bible, fast and submit yourself to the Word of God; we’re living in the land of the dead, dying to go to the land of the living.
