Narrow Path

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it Matthew 7:13-14.

Entering into the straight gate means that one must come through the narrow gate in order to reach the path that leads to eternal life.

Christ, Himself is (God) both the gate and the way to lead to life, there is no other way or god that leads to eternal life with God the Father, and God the Son. False teachers proclaim there are many ways to get to God, but that is not Scriptural nor is it the truth.

Jesus was teaching His disciple that was walking with Him during that dispensation and He is teaching those that are walking with Him today in the Spirit to follow the narrow path, don’t go in the direction of the gate that is broad that will lead to destructions. False doctrine will allow followers to continue to do what they were doing prior to accepting salvation. Many will say, it does not take all that, but “all of that” is following Bible principles and the instructions Jesus gave to His disciples.

The Pharisees and Sadducees were religious leaders and they also were the ones continually railing Jesus because of His doctrine and because He proclaimed to be the Son of God. Religious people don’t want to hear or adhere to the truth because they want to live according to their desires and not according to God’s written instructions.

Religious doctrines mislead their followers and will cause them to enter into damnation if they don’t seek after the truth. God’s Word has been around for centuries and people have tried to destroy its creditability. Some say it contradicts itself which is in error, in Scripture one Word could mean something totally different in content in different Scriptures. If one takes the time to study the Bible they will see the Bible does not contradict itself and it’s the truth of all doctrines.

Salvation does not mean one has been given the opportunity to continue to practice sin, Jesus came in order to free mankind from the slavery of sin and bondage. God’s Word is truth and if we want to have a relationship and fellowship with God, we must adhere to His truths. The Word truth in Scripture is used in two ways, true as contrasted with false and genuine as contrasted with unreal. Although both apply to God, when we speak of the truth of God, normally, it’s His genuineness is contrasted with false gods of other religions.

Jesus gave His disciples then and now two commandments, love God and love one another. When one is in love they will try everything humanly possible to please the one they love. These two commandments didn’t take from the Ten Commandments, but it’s in conjunction. If one loves God then they will search out what pleases Him and it’s found in His written instructions, the Bible.

So many of God’s people want to live according to the doctrine that will allow them to practice sin or they will pick and choose which Scriptures they will believe and adhere to. God is the believer’s Father, and He has given them instructions to live by, can’t live by the Word if you don’t know the Word. Not knowing God’s instructions is playing spiritual roulette.

When one follows their desires rather than God’s instructions they will die in their sins and on the Day of Judgement they will be selected to go with all the non-believers to a place of torment and they will be there for eternity. God wanted humanity to escape Hell this is why He gave His Son for redemption and His Word to keep them safe from the wrath of God.

God’s instructions are the lifeline for eternal life with peace and joy forever. His instructions aren’t hard to follow if you have truly accepted salvation. His Spirit will enable the believer to submit and have a thirst for righteousness that reflects the attributes of God.

We must follow the instructions of God’s Written Word if we want to be citizens of heaven. First of all, we need to repent of our sins, according to the Word of God, “All have sinned and came short of the glory of God” God has revealed to His people how they should live in His instruction book, the Bible, we were born into a sinful world and we have a sinful nature, our only hope is faith in Jesus Christ the One that died for our sins and reconciled us to the Father.

When one truly accepts salvation, he or she will no longer practice sin because they have become a new creation in their spirit. They will love God and they will love one another according to what Jesus has instructed the believer to do. They will forgive one another just as they want God to forgive them of their sins. They will seek God in prayer, reading, and studying His Word.

In order to get to know someone, you must spend time with them to get to know their likes and dislikes. When you fall in love with them, you will do everything humanly possible to please them, and that’s what one will do when they truly fall in love with God. How can one say they love God and never spend time with Him? Or how can they get to know Him when they don’t read or study His Word?

The Bible is the Christian road map in what to do to please God. It’s a GPS in what to do and what not to do. It’s a cleanser of the soul and spirit. It’s our insurance policy, to redeem it, we must live according to the contract. When we live opposite of what the Bible instructs a believer to live, the contract will be nullified.

Sin is not categorized in God’s sight, there is no little sin and a big sin, unforgiveness is a sin just like sex without marriage is a sin. holding offenses is a sin just as taking someone’s life whether it is physical or by words; killing their character.

As Christians we must read and study the Bible, it lights the pathway to righteousness to God. It’s spiritual food to give nutrition to our spirit. It’s God’s Word manifesting itself through us as we submit to it. If we don’t follow the instructions of the Bible, we’re hell bound with no way of escape once we enter!
