Fighting An Invisible Enemy

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places – Ephesians 6:12.

Spirits are real, but people don’t want to believe what they can’t see; we can’t see the wind, but we believe there is wind because of its effects. We can’t see gravity, but we feel its effects. We can’t see spirits, but we see and feel the effects.

Satan and his co-host have been around since the beginning of time. Satan and his co-host were once godly angels before their rebellion that caused them to be cast out of heaven into the earth (Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou was created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth, and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou was perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee Ezekiel 28:13-15). Satan became God’s adversary when he and a third of heaven’s angels rebelled against Him.

Satan is also the adversary of every person, race, and nationality. Because Satan is a spirit, many don’t believe he exists. This is exactly what he wants people to think because once they know he exists, he would no longer have the influence to lead some people. Most people have moral righteousness, and it’s good to have moral righteousness, but moral righteousness will not give you an entrance to heaven.

Satan’s plan is to destroy as many as possible before they see and understand and accept the salvation God has given by His Son, Jesus. He brings about false religion, known in the Bible as false doctrine. Believers have been instructed not to believe any other doctrine other than the doctrine the Apostle’s taught (If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, received him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed – 2nd John Verse 9). Most false doctrines will have bits of Scripture but leave out God and Jesus. They claim there are many ways to serve God; when God has instructed in His written Word, no one comes to the Father other than by Jesus. The remission of sins can’t be given unless the individual accepts salvation through faith in Jesus.

Satan is the god of this world, and he has influenced people not to believe there is a God; he has influenced them they can live any way they desire and have an entrance to heaven. He is the influencer that makes people steal, kill and destroy. He is the one that influences division and disunity between people. Satan can’t influence those who have surrendered themselves to the Father as much. There is no one without sin, but some people practice sin, and there is a difference between mistaken sin and practicing sin.

God has given everyone free will; they choose who and what they will do. This is why the believer has been admonished to let their minds be transformed by the Word of God (And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God – Romans 12:2). Believers are to resist being poured into the mold of the world’s thinking, value system, and conduct. The righteousness of God will cause the believer to conduct themselves in humility in heart and spirit. Satan’s influence is the opposite; his influence is to have a person act out everything God has instructed them not to do.

A person will not fight against something they don’t believe in. When one has time to do everything they have on their to-due list but never has God on the to-due list is an influence of Satan. This keeps the person from having a connection and relationship with their Father. Never having time to pray is an influence of Satan. As a believer and professing Christians, you must know your enemy; you must study him as you study the Word of God to get to know him and his influences.

If you get to know your enemy, he can’t influence as much when you know his tactics and influences. When you’re connected to the Father, God will reveal Satan’s tactics and influences to you. Everyone who talks about God is not serving the holy God but the god of this world. Secular entertainers aren’t serving or worshipping the Holy God; if they did, they wouldn’t be singing secular songs and music. Satan was the angel of worshiper, and he has an influence on secular music.

There is no middle ground; either you will serve and worship God or serve and worship Satan. Secular music and entertainment are not godly designed to worship God. A good way to know if you’re being influenced by Satan, think to yourself, would you do it, say it, listen to it or go there if Jesus was standing next to you? If you were not doing it, if Jesus was standing next to you, then you are being influenced by Satan.

Know your enemy and fight against his influence by being connected to the Father by prayer, fasting, reading and studying God’s written Word, and adhering to its instructions. When you decide you want to live a life that will be pleasing to God, you have to fight, and you will have the Father assisting you in your fight. God does not want anyone to perish, but He will never go against a person’s will if they want to serve Satan rather than Him.
