The Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God – John 1:1-2.

In the beginning with God signifies the perfect fellowship between God the Father and God the Son in eternity.

When God decided to make man, He created him in the image of Himself and Jesus (And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth – Genesis 1:26). God was not talking to the angels, neither are the angels created in the image of God.

Jesus was created in the image of God; this is why He told His disciples when they saw Him, they have seen God (Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? He that hath seen Me have seen the Father; and how sayest thou then show us the Father? Jesus and the Father are in such unison they are described as one in the Bible.

Jesus was with the Father in heaven, but after the sin of Adam, man needed to be reconciled to God, and there was no one who could fit that description but Jesus. Jesus left the Father and came to earth in the bodily form of humanity in the womb of Mary.

Mary was not God; she gave birth to God by God (And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore, also that holy thing which shall be born of thee, shall be called the Son of God – Luke1:35). The worshipping of Mary is worshiping an idol. We only worship the Father and the Son; when we give glory and honor to any other than the Father and Son, we’re worshipping idols.

It was Jesus who appeared to Abraham and said he would give him the land (And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto they seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him – Genesis 12:7). According to the Word of God, no man can see the face of God and live (And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for there shall no man see Me and live – Exodus 33:20). No one has seen God, only the Son (No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared Him – John 1:18). So since no man can see God’s face, this must have been Jesus appearance as the pre-incarnate appearance of Christ, sometimes called a “Christophany,” meaning the visible and bodily manifestation of God the Son before His incarnation.

The Lord Jesus spoke with Abraham before destroying Sodom and Gomorrah (And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day – Genesis 18:1). Abraham had a relationship with God, He was not going to hide what He was about to do to a sinful city (And the Lord said, shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do – Genesis 18:17). The Lord, our God has not changed. He will not allow something to come into your life without first warning you.

God wanted to fellowship with His creation, but He couldn’t because of the sin embedded in them. The only way mankind would be reconciled to God was through His Son, Jesus. Jesus came to save the lost and return them to the Father.

There is no other name one can be saved by other than Jesus. Jesus has no respect for the person. He came to die for the world’s sins, meaning all nations. Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved – Romans 10:13). Calling on Mary, Buddist, Confucius, or any other name will not save you.

Jesus was in the beginning. He’s mentioned throughout Scripture that He will return for His bride, the church. Prepare yourself for His coming, read the Bible, and apply the instructions of the Bible to your life so that you may live in eternity with happiness and joy with the Father and Son.
