For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables (2nd Timothy 4:3-4).

 It’s difficult to accept correction, to be told we have to change. The Word of God is our instructions for living according to the Word of God, there is no other way around it.

Either we will live according to His Word or we will reject His Word, we can’t live in between, it’s either holiness, being separated from the world or living a life of hypocrisy.

Many times Christians will seek out churches that will give them a good feeling, indoctrinating them to think on the things of the world rather than giving them Biblical teachings.  This world will one day pass away, Jesus is on His way back for the church, and He is coming for a church without a wrinkle, blemish or a spot (That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish – Ephesians 5:27). 

Wrinkle meaning we should be filled with His Spirit, flowing in righteousness like running water. Spot, we shouldn’t have any defect (nothing lacking in our spiritual walk). Nothing defecting our spirit by our emotions, nothing that would be a disgrace. Blemish, meaning faultless through our righteousness in Christ Jesus when we have submitted ourselves to God and His Word.

In many churches sound doctrine isn’t taught; ministers preach or teach what will make the congregation feel at ease, nothing that will make them search the Scriptures to see if they are living according to the Word of God. This is why there is so many different religions because people pick and choose what they will adhere to. If the teaching is coming against their lifestyle they will dismiss what they heard and continue live a lifestyle of sin because according to them that’s not what God meant.

So many wants to bring God down to their level, their accuse is “He knows we are human, He knows I have different feelings that need to be gratified”. Yes, God knows we’re human, this is why He gave us of His Spirit so that we can live according to His Word (Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust – 2nd Peter 1:4). God has empowered us to live according to His Word, we have to have a heart to want to live accordingly.

Don’t look for ministries that will make you feel comfortable living in sin. God is concerned about you entering heaven, not what makes you feel good. When a ministry doesn’t address sin, there is something wrong. Through out the Bible God sent prophets, apostles, evangelist to teach His people His instructions. These messages were not make me feel good messages.

Take time read and study the Word of God for yourself to make sure you’re being taught sound doctrine which is according to the Word of God. Search yourself to see if your lifestyle is in line with the Word of God (Examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith, prove your ownselves. Know ye not your own selves how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates -2nd Corinthians 5:13). We examine ourselves by the Word of God, nothing else. If our hearts are not reprobated, the Word of God will convict our hearts, that is why the Adversary influences people not to read the Word of God.

The Word of God cleanses our heart, it soften it from what the world has influenced. No way one can continue to read God’s Word and his or her heart does not change. Just as much as people allow the world to influence them, they should allow the Word of God to influence them. Listen to Christian music, listen to the gospel programs, watch Christian movies, spend time with God in reading His Word.

Make it a priority to meet with God on a daily basis in prayer. If one seek God with their whole heart, they will find Him. Prayer is important to anyone that profess to be a Christian. Prayer connects us with the Father; prayer will enhance the gift of discernment to be able distinguish what is Biblical and what isn’t.

Just as God has godly ministers, Satan also has ministers to lead God’s people astray (And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. therefore it is no great thing, if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness: whose end shall be according to their works – 2nd Corinthians 11:14-15). Be  discerning of who you allow to speak into your spirit. Don’t allow everyone to lay hands and pray for you.

Take time and seek God, as you do, He will open your understanding to Scripture. God knows if you don’t understand, you can’t apply the Word. Your responsibility is to pray and read God’s Word and ask God for understanding. He will give you revelation of His Word.

Everyone ministering has not been sent by God, you need the Word of God in you so you will know  whether they are God’s minister’s or Satan’s. Everyone preaching isn’t preaching sound doctrine. You have to know the Word of God to keep from being led astray from the doctrine of Christ.
