Prayer Is The Key

Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The Spirit is truly ready, but the flesh is weak. – Mark 14:38

The most effective weapon we have against Satan is prayer and worship. The spirit man is always willing to pray, but the fleshly side of man will always make an excuse to keep from praying.

The flesh don’t want to pray neither does Satan wants us to pray, so what he will do is bring hindrance and excuses to keep us from praying.  He knows if he can keep us from praying consistently, our spirit man will weaken and this will enable him to destroy our faith. Satan know without faith we cannot please God.

When we begin to obey our sinful nature, we have slipped in our prayer life. Prayer is our weapon; you never let down your weapon. When you see a soldier on television, and the soldier is in enemy territory, you never see the soldier placing his weapon down; you don’t see him placing his gun somewhere he can’t access it quickly because he doesn’t know when the enemy may attack or set an ambush.

Saints of God, we are in a spiritual war, we can’t see the enemy, but we can feel his attack. We have to keep our gun loaded to fight the enemy. Salvation is our helmet; our weapon is prayer coupled with the Word of God. Prayer is good, but its most effective when it’s accompanied with Scripture (The Lord said to me, You have seen correctly, for I watch over my word to accomplish it – Jeremiah 1:12).

We have lost battles because we’re praying, but we were not watching. Therefore, Satan attacks us in our desires, wills, and emotions. Some of us lost battles because we let hinderance keep us from praying a consistent prayer. Satan has strategies to keep us from growing spiritually, without a consistent prayer life, you will not become a mature Christian. Satan wants us to let up on intensified prayer. He will send hinderance to keep us from reading, praying and studying the Word of God.

He wants us to stop resisting his attacks. Satan wants to get us spiritually tired and wearied. He wants us to stop casting out doubt and fear. He wants us to stop releasing our faith. Satan will keep us busy doing something to hinder our persistent, and consistent prayer time whether it’s with our job, our family, church whomever and whatever he can use to hinder the prayer he will do so.

Naturally, when we have an appointment with a doctor or dentist, if we cancel more than three times, on the fourth cancellation, we will be charged a cancellation fee. Spiritually, when we continue to cancel our prayer time, we will pay a cancellation fee. We can’t feel His presence; we don’t hear His voice leading and directing us, we’re easily tempted and submitted to sin.

When you’re on a cellular or a cordless phone when you reach a certain distance, you can no longer hear the other party; it’s the same thing with God.  When we get so far into sin because of a lack of prayer, we can’t hear Him neither can He hear us because we’re no longer walking in agreement with His Word. When we practice sin and we know we’re in sin, God no longer hears the prayer. (1st John 9:31 – Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, him He heareth). If a sinner prays sincerely from the heart of repentance, God will hear the prayer, but if one is a practicing sinner and have no heart to change from their sin, the prayer isn’t being heard.

A consistent prayer is an answered pray (Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much) – James 5:16).

Prayer of Adoration Psalm 103:1 – Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. To be a  person of praise, we must have a prayer life. Praise ushers us into the presence of God when we live a life of prayer and praise.

Prayer of Confession1st John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. To confess is to acknowledge or disclose something damaging or inconvenient to oneself. It’s to make known our sin, those things we hide and know, no one else knows about it, but you and God. Confession will set you free, guilt is baggage, and it will weigh you down.

Prayer of Supplication 1st Samuel 1:10 – And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore. Supplication is pouring out your soul to the Lord; it’s when you don’t care about whose looking or hearing, this is your time with God, you need to reach the face of God, not His hand.

Prayer of IntercessionDaniel 9:20 – And while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sins and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God. Every time we pray, before praying, we should confess our sin, knowingly and unknowingly to receive the Grace and Mercy of God in our lives.

Prayer of Warfare 2nd Corinthians 10:4 – For the weapon of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Saints of God our weapon consist of prayer, praise, and worship.  Our warfare is not carnal, meaning not fighting with the flesh, but with ungodly spirits (Ephesians 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We must come to the realization, we’re not fighting against each other, but the manifestation of wicked spirits. Just as God needs a human being to manifest Himself through, Satan needs a vessel too.

Prayer of AgreementMatthew 18:19 – Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Prayer is very powerful by itself, but if you have someone praying with you, in agreement, you will see a quicker manifestation of answered prayer.

Prayer is very important for the body of Christ. Prayer and praise are our weapons.  No prayer, little power;  much prayer, much power. Prayer is what brings forth the fruits of the Spirit and the Gifts of the Spirit. Prayer is our communication with God. He wants to hear your voice other than when something is going wrong, or you’re in need of something Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint).

Prayer cleans us from sin; there is no way you can continue to go before God and He allows you to stay the same. In His presence we see where we need to repent and humble ourselves before Him and His Word. Prayer assist us not to be influenced by sin. Prayer saves lives, someone prayed for us and through their prayers, God sent His Word or someone that made us want to receive His salvation.

Prayer also keeps someone from having their lives taken, sometimes God will show you where death is lurking around them, and your prayers can save that person’s life. Prayer activates the gifts of the Spirit and the manifestation of the Fruit of the Spirit. Prayer will heal the sick, if its in God’s will for the person to be healed. Everyone will not be healed divinely, but will receive their healing when they meet the Lord. Prayer assist us in growing spiritually; we should not be in the same stage we were when we received salvation.

Prayer is important, and Christians must begin to seek the face of God and not His hand!
