He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city – Proverbs 16:32
Usually people who can control their anger is called a push-over or a passive person. It takes more energy to control ones tongue, and emotions rather than saying what’s on their mind and emotions. Self control is superior to conquest. Losing control may cause you to forfeit what you want the most. It can also cause you to be sorry for words spoken that you can’t take back.
Self control plays a key role in every area of our life. Over-eating, drinking of beverages, talking to much, being extremely busy and not taking the time for rest and sleep. No restraints to sexual desires are signs of no self-control. Success in business or home life can be ruined by one who has lost control of his or her anger. Self control can bring us to promotions or demotions in business as well as demotion in our character and behavior. If we allow God to work on our behavior and habits, He will give us the power we need to have self-control.
