Brethren

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity – Psalm 133:1

Harmony is pleasant and is precious, unfortunately, harmony doesn’t abound in the church as it should be. People disagree and cause division over unimportant issues. Harmony is important because it makes the church a positive example to the world and helps draw others to us. Harmony helps us to cooperate as a body of believers, it renews and revitalizes ministry.

Unity should be in the church as well as the body of believers, but Satan has bamboozled the body of Christ by fighting against each other in the church as well as the body of Christ to the point, the Spirit of the Lord doesn’t dwell among us. God is the same God that moved in the behalf of the disciples and the church body in the Old and New Testament, but they had something we don’t and that’s harmony and unity accompanied with holiness.

Where there is confusion, fault-finding, and division the Spirit of the Lord isn’t healing and delivering as He did in the Biblical days because we will not allow Him.  On the day of Pentecost they were on one accord (And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place -Acts 2:1).

When the glory of God came into the temple, the people were on one accord to the point the ministers couldn’t minister because of the glory of God (It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, For He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of Lord. So that the priests could not stand {continue} to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God -2nd Chronicles 5:12-14).

It’s good to praise the Lord in song, dance, jumping and shouting, and running around the church, but after all this is done, where is the deliverance, where is the healing? People come in sick, go out sick, come in with a broken heart, leave out with a broken heart. Come in confused, and leave confused. The Spirit of God comes to deliver His people from the strongholds Satan has bound them with. The body of Christ is so busy fighting one another, we have rejected the Spirit of God and have allowed Satan to come into the sanctuary to bring havoc and division.

When Jesus walked the earth the sick were healed, blinded eyes were open, deaf ears were open, diseased bodies were healed, the dead was raised from the grave. The same power that was given to Jesus, He gave it to the body of Christ. That power wasn’t just for the five-fold ministry or the Apostles of the Bible, but to those who have been born of the Spirit. The Gifts of the Spirit is for the body of Christ, the Fruit of the Spirit should be manifesting in the body of Christ. If more Christians were filled with the Holy Spirit it wouldn’t be as much division in the body of Christ as it is. If we take the time to see what’s missing in ourselves, we wouldn’t have the time to point the finger at someone else. The same power that was given to the church of old, is for the church of today. God is not the author of confusion and division, but Satan is, and He will dwell among the body of believers as long as they allow him.

When we begin to hunger and thirst for righteousness, and kick Satan out of our churches and our behavior, then will we see the glory of God in the body of Christ as well as our churches. We have been instructed to follow peace with all men (Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord – Hebrews 12:14). The principals of God’s word will never change and in order to receive of Him, we have to fall in line with His word. The gift of discernment is one of the gifts that is manifested by the Holy Spirit. When the gift is in operation, the body of Christ will know where and who the spirit of Satan is operating through. In order for the church to flourish as well as the body of Christ to receive what God has for us, we must turn to God and align our lives with His word.
