Fellowship

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin – John 1:7

God is light, to walk in this light is to live free from bondage to sin. It’s to make true communion between believers possible. Jesus’ violent death on the cross, which is what the blood signifies is the initial antidote for ultimate defense against sin’s presence and power.

To fellowship with someone is to have companionship, a mutual sharing, a group of people with the same interest and communion. To walk in the light is to live in such a way that one is enlightened by the truth of who God is. When a Christian’s conduct reflects God’s moral character; real fellowship is possible with other Christians. Our fellowship with God is dependent on walking in God’s light where sin is revealed. Revelation of our sins brings us to Jesus to seek salvation. Salvation is deliverance, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, making it possible for imperfect believers to have fellowship with a holy God when we don’t practice sin.

Fellowship with one another should be in every church and in the body of Christ. When disunity and disagreement between one another is occurring, we should take the time and exam ourselves to see why are we in disagreement and disunity. If everyone in the body of Christ would do that, there wouldn’t be division in the church or the body of Christ. There is no division in the Son, Father and Holy Spirit and there shouldn’t be division in the body of Christ. Where there is division, the Spirit of God can’t dwell there, and this is what Satan wants. He doesn’t want the Spirit of God to be in the church or in the body of Christ. The energy we use to come against one another, we should use the same tenacity to fight against Satan and the people he has bound in sin.
