Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him: yea, I have made him – Isaiah 43:7
As Christians, we stumble at times in our faith, and in our commitment to God. When we deviate from the plans of God or His Word, all we have to do is come with a genuine heart of repentance. He will forgive us and restore us to our rightful place in Him.
Failure to walk according to the Word of God will come to every believer, but when we fail, we shouldn’t continue to stay in our sinful state. Sin isn’t just committing sexual sins, but when we lose faith, it’s sin. When we don’t show love, it’s not showing the character of our Father. Worry is sin, so we all have sinned and came short of the glory of God, but thank God, we have an Advocate, Jesus, the Son of God that is making intercession on our behalf.
We don’t have to stay in a sinful state if we don’t desire to. God will deliver us from every habit, addiction, craving and bondage, because He sent His Son to set the captive free (If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed – John 8:36). There is nothing or anyone that can keep us in bondage when we repent for our sins and ask for help. We are the people of God, the people He created, the people He loves, the people He gave His Son to die for (For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3:16).
God doesn’t want us to stay in sin because He has declared the wages of sin is death (For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23). Whatever sin that is keeping us bound, all we have to do is to desire to be free, ask God to forgive us from the sins we’ve committed against Him, ourselves and others and ask Him to help us and deliver us from the sins we’re committing. God desires for His children to be free, all they have to do is ask (Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them – Mark 11:24).
When we pray for help to live according to God’s Word, we’re praying according to His will. His will is His Word, and His Word is His will and the prayer will be answered.
