Prayer of Agreement

Again, I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 17:19-20.

Prayer is one of the most effective weapons we have as Christians.  Prayer reaches from your home to any country, city or state you’re praying for, prayer is spiritual and it has no boundaries.  Prayer of agreement can be either at church among believers as well as two people together in their home or on their phones.

The sincere prayer of agreement of two people is more powerful than the superficial agreement of thousands because Christ’s Holy Spirit is with them. Two or more believers, filled with the Holy Spirit, will pray according to God’s will, not their own; and their request will be granted.  Unity provokes the Spirit of God to come in our presence as well as the situation or circumstances were praying for, this is why Satan brings division in the body of Christ because he knows division brings disunity and disunity bring separation and separation bring forth powerless prayers that will not be answered.  If you desire to see the move of God, find someone you can pray with that has been filled with the Holy Spirit.  Set a time you will pray and don’t allow anything to detour you from the time of prayer, as you be faithful to God in prayer, He will be faithful in answering your prayers.  In order for the church to stand whether it’s by an individual or corporately; there must be prayer and fasting accompanied with unity.

Prayer is a weapon against Satan and his co-host. Jesus instructed His disciples to pray always and not to faint (And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint [lose heart] – Luke 18:1).  Having a prayer partner will make you accountable to someone,  so even if you don’t have your personal time of prayer sometimes, you will always have that time of prayer with your prayer partner. When we’re committed to prayer and our time of prayer, God will usually meet you there to instruct you who or what to pray for or sometimes, the Spirit of praise will be in the time of prayer, and all He wants is praise and you will be energized spiritually just by giving God what He wants.

When having a prayer partner you also have to watch out and not allow the adversary to hinder or stop your time of prayer by having conversations other than prayer. It is so easy to start talking about what happened during the day or what someone said or did rather than focusing on the committed time of prayer.  After prayer, try to keep as much unnecessary talking limited, don’t jump from the spirit right into the carnal.  Keep the refreshing God has given you, hold on to what God said or showed you during the prayer time, let your conversation be Amen and hang up the phone.  Now if you need to talk to your prayer partner about something, do it on your time and not on God’s time.

Jesus instructed the disciples where two or three was gathered together in His name, He would be in the midst of them (For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them – Matthew 18:20). This does not mean just when you are in church with other believers, but wherever you are and come together in unity and agreement of prayer, the Lord will be there. Also when praying in agreement, you are not praying about one thing and your prayer partner is praying for something else.  If you’re praying for salvation for souls, the prayer partner should be saying yes, Lord or do it, Lord or something to that effect, the prayer partner should not be praying for something totally different from the one that is praying, that is not in agreement. Say for instance your prayer partner is praying for families to be healed and while they are praying, you are binding and loosing or they are praying for their family to be in unity and you’re praying for a financial need to be met. Praying in an agreement is praying for the same thing at the same time. Last, but not least whoever is praying the prayer partner should not be louder than the one that is praying, it’s not in agreement and it’s distracting the other partner.

If we want to see a change in ourselves as well as the world, we need prayer partners.  People we know that they are vessels of honor to God, people who are committed to God and to His Word.  Want to experience the Spirit of God in the Church, remove offenses, jealousy envy, ungodly pride, coming together with the same mind to reach God and nothing else matter and you will experience the Spirit of God in the body of Christ as well as the Churches. Prayer of an agreement is powerful!
