And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive – Matthew 21:22.

Many Christians live from day-to-day not knowing that they don’t have the power of God in their lives, not understanding that the power of God is essential to the Christian walk. When we think of power, many envision the miracles of Christ, and those are definitely a manifestation of the power of God, but the power of God is manifested in our lives by our walk. Without the walk, without the manifestation of Christ in us, all the miracles in the world are nothing.

There were two blind men sitting by the way road when they heard that Jesus was passing by they begin to cry out, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David”. As they cried out, the multitude warned them that they should be quiet, but they cried the more “Have mercy on us, O Lord, son of David”. Jesus heard their cry, and asked them ” What do you want Me to do for you”? Their prayer request was that He would heal their blinded eyes, Jesus gave them their request. Although Jesus, saw them sitting on the road and was very much aware that they were blind, He didn’t force healing on them. God doesn’t force Himself on anyone, His purpose is not to force us to accept His will. Jesus didn’t heal them until they ask for healing.

There was a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years, she went to many physicians and they couldn’t heal her, finally, she decided to try Jesus. When she became desperate, she went to the source that could cure all diseases. She came to the conclusion that man couldn’t help her The Bible states she touched the hem of His garment, indicating she had to crawl through the crowd in order to touch His garment.  In order to receive from God, we must go deeper into the Spirit to understand God’s directions.

We have to get beyond our understanding and into God’s Word. We must allow God to move in our life, tear down the walls of self within us and allow Him to rebuild us with His Spirit until we are made into His image. We have to let go of natural things, there are many things in the natural that we have to let go of, we have to die to our traditional thinking. The woman with the issue of blood had to refuse to accept the Jewish tradition, according to their traditions she was forbidden to touch anyone, according to the law she was commanded to stay away from everyone. The natural told her she had no hope, to give up and settle for her lot in life, and allow her circumstance to dictate her life.

The two blind men were ridiculed, looked upon as rejects, but they didn’t allow the circumstance of their blindness nor the people who were warning to be quiet to keep them from receiving what they needed from Jesus. In order to receive what we want, we must not allow the circumstances to keep us from crying out to Jesus. Jesus is looking for people who will disregard all consequences to press through to the point of their miracle and get a touch from God!

Prayer is the key to receiving what we want from the Lord. We must keep on praying until we receive what we asked for. Jesus came to set the captives free, that means whatever have us captive, He came to free us from it. It doesn’t matter how long you have prayed, it doesn’t matter how many times you have asked, if your request is according to the will of God which is His Word, He will answer your prayer. This is why it’s important to know the Word of God in order to submit to it as well as receiving answers to prayers.
