God’s Spoken Word

God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good – Numbers 23:19.

The word repent is parallel to lie, here repenting is related to falsehood. The concept of the truth of God is unchanging. God is completely different from man, He cannot lie. God’s Word is true and unchangeable. When He said He will bless, He shall bless, and when He says we shall be compensated for our sins, we shall be.

The Bible is God’s written Word that was spoken by God, His Word is like Him, it doesn’t change and its true. God’s love for His people is everlasting, He doesn’t love us conditionally, but unconditionally. From the beginning of time to the ending of time, God will always be true whether man believes in Him or not. The world was created by God’s spoken Word, He spoke to nothing and made it something. He spoke life to the walking dead, alive, but was dead without His Spirit dwelling in our being. Adam and Eve were created in holiness, in the image of God, but when they disobeyed God, they were no longer connected, because sin had brought a breach between them.

It wasn’t God’s desire for them to die spiritually, but by their disobedience they died spiritually. Our hearts and minds need to be renewed daily with prayer and reading the Bible. Daily were interacting with non-believers, our eyes and ears are opened to the corrupt communication that’s seen and heard without us seeking to look or listen to it. What’s continually in our eyes as well as our ears will begin to be manifested in our character and behavior if we don’t detox our heart, mind and spirit with prayer and the Word of God.  This why the Apostle Paul admonished us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice (I Beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mid, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God – Romans 12:1-2).

When the heart and mind haven’t been renewed and conformed to the Word of God, the individual isn’t aware of what’s and what’s not acceptable to God. We’re creatures of habit, if we read the Bible daily, eventually we would become what we’re reading because we would want to make sure our lives are lining up with the Word of God. Daily prayer will change our heart as well as our spirit. There is no way we can continually come before God and don’t be changed. The mind has to be renewed so that the mold of our present thinking, value and conduct of this world would be changed to adhere to God’s spoken Word that has been written. The Bible is a mirror to check ourselves to see if we’re compatible to the Word of God, we can see if there’s needed changes in our behavior, and character. Read the Bible, it’s God’s spoken Word written to every professing Christian.
