Don’t Stop Now

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle (scorch) upon thee – Isaiah 43:2

Going through rivers of difficulty will either cause us to drown or force us to grow stronger. If we go in our own strength, we will most likely drown, but if we invite the Lord to go with us, He will protect us.

As Christian’s we have been called to be soldiers. A soldier can’t be fearful, gullible, blind or prayer-less, if so, they will be taken captive by the adversary. Going through test and trials is not the time to stop praying, but it’s the time to increase our prayers, increase fasting and studying the word of God. This will cause one to have a shield of protection against the fiery darts of Satan.

As Christians we have been informed, we will have hardship (Thou therefore endure hardness [hardship] as a good soldier of Jesus Christ – 2nd Timothy 2:3). Hardship doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us or He’s not aware of our hardship, sometimes hardship comes because of our own doing, then there are times God will allow hardship to bring us closer to Him. Trouble will either make us grow or it will make us backslide. We determine whether we’re going to trust God to bring us out or we will try to bring ourselves out. We make things worse the majority of the time.

God has ordained His word over our life, and His word will not return to Him void. God has spoken to our past, present and future and everything He has spoken will come to manifestation, all we have to do is have faith. In this life, we will have tears. Tears touches the heart of God, and faith moves the hand of God. We will never experience an encounter with God without trials and tribulations which is a distress. When we’re in distress, He’s there to bring us out (When thou are in tribulation [distress], and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shall be obedient unto His voice; For the Lord thy God is a merciful God; He will not forsake thee neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He sware unto them – Deuteronomy 4:30-31). This promise was for the children of Israel which means the people of God. We are the people of God just as the Jews were. We are the spiritual Jews, and just as He provided, protected, directed them, He will also do the same for us.

Israel went into captivity, but they were also given an exit. In Genesis they were going into captivity. In Exodus they were leaving their captivity and they left with gold and silver. We never go through distresses and be left there, God will always bring us out, and if we allow Him to bring us out the way, during the time He wants;  we also will be given rest, spiritual promotion, and provisions for our needs.

When going through trials and any distress, don’t stop praying, don’t stop doing good towards others. Do as you were doing when you were on the mountain top. Do the same thing while in the valley and watch God bring you out with the victory and the desires of your heart!

Sometimes we have to go through difficulty and no matter how much we fast, pray and read the Bible, the problem is still there. This is when you continue to pray, fast, read and study the Bible. Encourage and help others. As you are concerned about them, it will not take away what you’re going through, but it will build your faith in God. It will move the hand of God in your circumstances.
