To the One and only wise God, as we come before You today, we ask that You would forgive us for any sin or sins we may have committed against You or Your people. We pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to us where we have sinned, and we pray for a humble heart to ask for forgiveness and repent of our sins.
You are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. You are the God that created the universe. You are the One that speaks to the sun, moon, and stars, and they stay in place. You are the God that resurrects dead things. You are holy and magnificent. You are great, excellent is Your name. You are the full-breasted One. You are Adonai, Jehovahjireh, Jehovah shalom, Jehovah-Shammah, Jehovahtsidkenu, Jehovahnissi.
We come in the name of Your Son, Jesus, the Christ of God. We come with bowed hearts and spirits, reverencing Your holiness and greatness. We come to you as our God and our Father. We come to confess our sins and ask for Your forgiveness. You are a merciful God and forgiving God; we ask that You would continue to draw us closer to You. We ask that You would give us hearts that would be humble and meek. We pray for our hearts to hate sin and to resist sin. Wash us, clean us, and make us appear as vessels of honor to You.
We pray for the nations as a whole; have mercy, Oh Lord, cities, states, and countries are devastated; many have lost loved ones and all of their possessions. We pray for Your comfort and loving kindness will overshadow them. Give them Your peace, the peace that surpasses all human understanding. Let them feel Your love and compassion. Restore their possessions, and make it an easy process for them. Bring us together as one, and help us to see one another as one that God has created. Bless the first responders and their families, allow the resources they need to be given, and send forth the help that is needed. You are the God of miracles; give them miracles, and show Yourself strong on their behalf.
We pray for Your protection around ourselves, our loved ones, and our neighbors. We pray for the angels of God to fight on our behalf. Father, remove fear from the hearts of Your people; help them to place their trust in You and not what they see. You are the God that will rain on the unjust as well as the just. Show Yourself stronger than what they have been through.
Create in us a clean heart, renew a right spirit within us. We pray for the law of God to be written in our hearts and in our spirits. Help us to walk in the light as He is in the light. Help us to have fellowship with one another. Help us not to yield ourselves as instruments of unrighteousness but yield ourselves to God. Help us not to conform to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds and hearts so that we may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God. We ask these prayers in Jesus’ name, Amen!
