Temple of Worship

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land – 2nd Chronicles 7:12.

Solomon had finished building the Temple, and he was dedicating the Temple to God. To dedicate something is to  set apart a place, object, or person for an exclusive purpose. The purpose of dedicating the Temple was to be a place of worship. The Temple was a holy place where the Spirit of the Living God reside. Solomon prayed to God for provisions for the people when they had sinned. God answered Solomon with four conditions for forgiveness (1) humble themselves by admitting to their sins. (2) pray to God, asking for forgiveness, (3) seek God continually, (4) turn from sinful behavior Read More

Love Is Not Optional

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of  sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed – Romans 13:11 The Apostle Paul was instructing the saints to love everyone.  Jesus poured out His love on us, and we in return should  pour our love toward others without having partiality. Too many times as Christians we choose who we will express our love towards, when we should be expressing our love towards everyone as Jesus did for us. As Christians, we must obey the law of love, which supersedes both religious and civil law. As Christians we cannot condone sin in ourselves as well as others, but we don’t attack them verbally by abusing them with words or our actions. Love will draw others towards our Christian belief whereas  words of offense will cause one to hate our God as well as our beliefs. We all were once sinners, but God didn’t draw us with harsh words or harmful actions towards us, but He drew us with His love, and as children of God, we should be drawing others with love and compassion. We can express God’s love and His written Word by our actions in our lifestyle. God is looking for vessels that will yield themselves to His Word and His Spirit. God’s love is genuine, and if He’s really residing in our being, our love will be genuine towards all of God’s creation. Love destroys hatred, love will influence a unbeliever to open their hearts to God’s invitation of salvation. Love forgives, and love will be committed to pray for the unbeliever, religious, and the hypocrite until Christ be formed in them.

Seek the Lord

And he sought God in the days of Zechariah who had understanding in the visions  of God: and  as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper        (2nd Chronicles 26:5). Uzziah was sixteen years old when he took the place of his father Amaziah as king. Uzziah’s desire was to do the things that was pleasing in the sight of God, because  his desire was to please the Father, that did he seek after. As long as Uzziah sought the Lord, God made him to prosper. God hasn’t changed, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Just as He blessed Uzziah, He will prosper those that seek to please Him. In today’s society, it’s a challenge to live a life that will be pleasing to the Lord. When you turn on the television, you have to almost cover your eyes because you don’t know what might just pop up on the screen. Shopping malls and restaurants have secular music playing while you’re shopping and eating, bringing back memories you shouldn’t be thinking on, or they are making your imagination more vivid. Hurtful actions or words are replaying in your mind like a tape recorder, rewinding the words or actions, but in order to seek the Lord, you don’t deny the hurt, but you forgive the one that brought on the hurt. To seek the Lord is doing the opposite of what your emotions and flesh is trying to influence you to do. Prosperity isn’t always about money, if you have peace in your mind and spirit, that’s God prospering you. In order to please the Lord, there must first be a desire to want to please Him, and as we desire too, He will give us the desires of our heart accompanied with blessings.
