Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself and opened her mouth without measure, and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth shall descend into it – Isaiah 5:13:14 – This took place when Israel was exiled to Assyria and Judah to Babylon, they brought judgement to themselves by turning away from the laws of God. Turning away from God exposes us to judgment. Many Christians are turning away from God because of other religion, selfish desires as well as faith-less. God loves everyone, but He doesn’t love neither does He accept our sin. The penalty of sin is both spiritual and natural death. Spiritual death comes when we turn a deaf ear from the instructions of God; we no longer can hear His voice or being sensitive to His Spirit. Natural death comes when we continue in sinful actions that destroy’s the body, mind and the soul. Hell is just as real as Heaven, and the only way we will enter into Heaven is not being conformed to this world, our minds being transformed by the Word of God knowing what is acceptable and the perfect will of God. God is instructing His people to be holy; meaning they have turned away from their desires to God desires, turning away from the actions of the unbeliever, desiring God’s will to be done in and through them, for His glory and for your blessings!

The Heart
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23) Our heart, our feelings of love and desire dictates to a great extent how we live because we always find time to do what we enjoy. Jesus told His disciples “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”. We should be careful of what we treasure, keeping our hearts clean before God, not allowing worldly things to stain our heart for the things of God. What we place in our hearts will manifest in our character. Out of the heart the mouth speak, and what’s in our heart will manifest in our actions. The Word of God cannot be in our hearts, if we don’t take the time to read His Word and allow the Word of God to cleanse us from the things of the world we may have seen, or heard. Sin is all around, but it doesn’t have to be in us.

Guide
For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death – Psalm 48:14 As surely as we have been born, there is a day appointed to each of us to die. When death comes, will our soul be anchored in the Lord or will we be living according to the world standards? Each of us have to answer to God for our obedience or disobedience to His Word, self-affliction as well as what we have done to others. God will guide us to where we will spend eternity whether it’s heaven or hell. Yes, God loves us each us, but He has also given us instructions in how we should live our lives according to His standards, His love will not stop us from entering into hell if we decide we would rather reject and His instructions and His Son. Think about where will you spend eternity?
