Respect Those Who Have Rule Over You

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you (Hebrews 12:17).

Many are called, but few are chosen that will answer the call God has placed upon their life. Pastors who have been called of God usually never desired to be a pastor, but they excepted the position. True pastors have the heart of God, they are concerned about the sheep God has placed them shepherd over.  We should appreciate the gifts God has given us. A true man or  woman of God who leads the people according to the Word of God as well as live according to what they teach are under constant attack from Satan and his host as well as those Satan has planted in the congregation. Pastors that have been called of God, suffers for the congregation, stay up at nights praying for those  who are in need while the sheep are asleep. He or she visits the members who are hospitalized or bedridden, as well as the member’s family when they are hospitalized or die. Being a pastor may look glamorous, but its not. The anointing that’s upon their life causes many sleepless night, fasting, praying, reading and studying the Word. Being lied on, men and women trying to seduce the man or woman of God ; member’s leaving because they can’t have their way. Member’s disrespecting the pastor’s decisions. Pastor are sometimes in need of having someone to confide in, someone that will pray for them as they go through trials and tribulations. They have to be on a constant guard because they never know when the enemy will attack or what vessel he will use. If God has graced you with a true man or woman of God, keep them in prayer, fast for them, speak life into their life, be a blessing to them and not a heart-ache!

Pastors have feelings just like you do, they have good days and bad days, days they are on the mountaintop and days they are in the valley. A true pastor needs consoling just like you do, but they hold everything in, keeping a smile when sometimes they are crushed from the hurt of the congregants, crashed from the attacks of the enemy. Your pastor needs prayer just like you when you pray, say a prayer for them. When you fast, take a day to fast for them. Pastors who have been called of God will have the heart of God and will teach and preach according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Thank God for pastors who are submitted to God and His Word!
