The Day of the Lord

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath, but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy. For He shall make even a speedy riddance (end) of all them that dwell in the land (Zephaniah 1:18).

There is a side of God no one wants to talk about; we talk about His unconditional love, His longsuffering, and how God wants us to prosper, but there is a side of God people should be aware of. The message today; is giving the people what they want to hear to keep them happy. Teach the people to rely on Grace; no matter what they do, they will enter into heaven. This lie is from the pits of hell; God has given us instructions through His written Word on how He wants His people to live. Some may say this Scripture was only about the Babylonians, but this Scripture is for this present time and future of the coming of the Lord. God is the Teacher, and we’re the students; just as s secular teacher gives written instructions and teaches the students, they expect them to follow the instructions and comprehend to excel academically. God has left His written Word of instructions for us to follow, and to excel in the kingdom of God, the student must follow the instructions.

We cannot live a life that denies the holiness of God and expects to enter into heaven. There will be a day the Lord will return, and whether one believes He’s coming or denies there is a Son of God, it will not interfere or delay the day of His coming. We must be a prepared people for His coming. Jesus instructed His disciples that whoever followed Him had to deny themselves and take up their cross daily. Nothing is too hard to do when we have a made-up mind and heart, and that is what it will take to follow God’s written instructions.

The day of the Lord is the day the Lord returns for His church, and it will also be a day of gloom for those who have rejected His salvation and those who profess to be Christian but live opposite of the Word of God. In this life, we have many tribulations and heartaches, but if we stay faithful to God, there will be a day we will be rewarded for our faithfulness. Jesus is returning, and however we live in this life, we will be rewarded (And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be – Revelation 22:12).   Whatever we have done and believed in this world is what we will be our reward whether its blessings or cursing.

Jesus is returning, and if you have any intentions of returning with Him, read the Bible, study it, and live according to its instructions. Although the word “Rapture” does not occur in the English Bible, the Latin Bible uses the verb “caught up.”  The Rapture is the first phase of Christ’s return involving every Christian alive at that time, as well as those who died in Christ, who will be resurrected and caught up with Jesus before the start of the Great Tribulation.

God has given us an instruction manual; all we have to do is read it and follow its instructions.  He hasn’t given us anything we can’t do; He has empowered us to live holy and live a successful life (According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue 2nd Peter 1:3).  There is no excuse, He has empowered us to live according to His instructions. What will be in your heart and soul when He returns?
