Life After Death

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivest thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence – Luke 16:25:26.

Jesus gave a parable about a beggar by the name of Lazarus, who was in need of food and was full of sores. Lazarus would sit at the gate of a rich man, desiring just to eat from the crumbs of the rich man’s table, but the rich man ignored his need. The beggar died and went into the bosom of Abraham.

The rich man also died and in hell, he lifted up his eyes and saw Lazarus in the bosom of Abraham. Because of the torment, he was in,  he inquired of Abraham to allow Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water to cool his tongue because of the torment he was in. Abraham explained to the rich man how he lived in comfort when Lazarus was living in discomfort, now the table had been turned. Lazarus was comforted, while the rich man was in torment.

The rich man asked Abraham to send Lazarus to his father’s house to warn his brothers of the torment of hell. Abraham explained to him, the dead couldn’t go to the living, and the living couldn’t go to the dead, immediately when a person dies they will either heaven or hell, there are no in-betweens.

The rich man didn’t want his brothers to feel the wrath of God, he wanted them to repent of their sins, and he thought if someone came from the dead to tell them to repent and the torment of hell that they would repent. Hell is a place of torment and separation from God. The spirit doesn’t die, but it is aware of everything that is happening to the individual.

This is why God has left His instructions on how to avoid going to hell. Hell is real, and to avoid hell, we must repent and live according to the instructions of the Bible. Jesus told the disciples that for those that went to hell the worms didn’t die and the fire wasn’t quenched (Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched – Mark 9:46).

This is why, we as Christians, must pray for the non-believers that God will draw them. We have to cry out for their deliverance, for their salvation, and sanctification. Just as God doesn’t want anyone to perish, we should be like our Father not want anyone to die and go to hell. Consistent prayer for non-believers will eventually soften their hearts to hear the Word of God and to receive His salvation, prayer will change the hearts of the people.

Satan is trying to take as many as he can to hell with him, this is why when you try to instruct people about salvation and deliverance, they want to call it hate crime, it’s hard to witness to those that are practicing sin because Satan has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts (But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them – 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4).

Hell is just as real as heaven, sadly to say, it’s more entering hell than those going to heaven because they reject salvation. The Bible states that hell has enlarged itself, in other words, its participants are increasing, and hell is making room for them.

There is an entrance to hell but there is no exit. Once there, it will be for eternity, and people are not there partying but burning. This is why the rich man wanted Abraham to send Lazarus to tell his brothers about hell so that they would not go there.

Sin separates people from God, although He loves everyone, He will not tolerate sin. This is why He gave His Son to die for the sins of the world that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. If there’s everlasting life in heaven, it means there is also everlasting life in hell.

There is life after death and there is an eternal resting place, it will be either heaven or hell (Then the sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead; all were judged according to their works. Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And anyone not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire – Revelation 20:13).

Satan wants you to believe there is no hell, he wants you to believe there is no God; he wants you to be where he will be for eternity (The Devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever – Revelation 20:10). The non-believer, as well as the carnal Christian, will join Satan and his angels in the lake of fire. Once one enters there will be no way of escape, it will be too late to say I’m sorry.
