When Things Aren’t Good, God Is With You

For the Lord thy God is a merciful God; He will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He sware unto them – Deuteronomy 4:31).

Christians go through tests, trials, disappointments, and loneliness as they walk to the Promise Land (Heaven). As we go through these difficulties, it does not mean God is not with us. He’s closer to you when you’re going through it than when you’re in a state of peace.

After the children of Israel were set free from the bondage of Pharoah and the Egyptians, on their way to the Promise Land, God didn’t lead them through the land of the Philistines, although that would have been closer, they would have to fight with the Philistines, and God knew it would have made them want to return to Egypt rather than fight.

So God led them by the Red Sea; there was no way they could cross the Red Sea unless God performed a miracle. The enemy was behind them, and the Red Sea was before them. It appeared as though it was no way to escape. But God stepped into their Red Sea situation and made a way of escape.

The children of Israel assumed because their enemy was behind them and it seemed as though they were going to lose their lives, they thought God was no longer with them. God was there all the time; when they began to cry out to the Lord, the Lord manifested Himself.

God will never allow you to go through a situation or circumstance, and He’s not there with you. God is in every place at one time. He will not get your cry or situation mixed up with someone else. He will not get your name mixed up with someone else’s name. He will not get your blessing mixed up with someone else.

God is a very present help in the time of trouble. Satan will fight you in your mind that God is not with you, God doesn’t love you, God has forsaken you, don’t accept the lie, don’t allow him to influence you to think God is not with you!

Christians are soldiers; that is why we have been instructed to put on the whole armor of God (Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand – Ephesians 6:13). Soldier never knows where the enemy make an attack, but when he do attack the soldier will be prepared to go to war. Sunday Christians will not be able to stand before the enemy and come out with victory.

Living for God is not just on Sunday; it’s a daily walk with Him, being in prayer, praising Him, reading and studying His Word, and days set aside for fasting to consecrate yourself before the Lord. Taking time to listen and sitting in His presence. When this is done on a consistent basis, God will never leave you, even when you can’t feel Him. When you can’t hear from Him, He’s there to walk you through whatever you’re going through.

Abraham and Sarah needed a supernatural blessing; God promised Abraham he would have a son. Both Abraham and Sarah were too old to produce a child, but when the hand of God touched them, they were able to produce.

You may have been waiting a long time for a breakthrough, a long time for your prayer to be answered. God has not forgotten you; at His appointed time, the prayer will be answered. The need will be supplied; the healing will come forth, whether divinely or through doctors; the healing is still coming from the hand of God.

God is a God of time; things aren’t instant with Him, yes, there is the time He answers instantly, but the majority of the time, there is a time frame before He comes on the scene, but when He comes, it’s with deliverance, and it’s on time!

Abraham believed in God, and although the situation seemed impossible, He didn’t look at the problem; he looked at the God that would solve the problem. Rehab, a harlot, believed in God. When she heard that the children of Israel were coming to take over Jericho, she hid the spies that came to spy out the land.

Because she feared God, because she hid the men of God from their enemies, Joshua made a promise that when they took over the land, Rehab and her family would be saved. Whenever you pray for the men and women of God, God will always move on your behalf and your family.

God doesn’t want you to fear; He doesn’t want you to lose faith. Believe God. As you delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart. As you pray, believe what you’re praying for. Jesus said ask, seek, and knock, and the door shall be open.

Ask believing God will hear your prayer; seek Him in prayer and praise. Knock, by continuing to keep asking until you receive the answer to your prayer. When things aren’t good, God is with you. He’s with you when you’re on the mountaintop; He’s with you when you’re in the valley. He’s the God of the valley just as He’s the God of the mountain.
