Positioning Yourself for the Blessings

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly (wicked), nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Psalm 1:1-3).

God doesn’t judge people on the basis of race, sex or national origin as men do, but He judges them on the basis of their faith in Him and their response to His revealed will. There are two paths of life before us, God’s way of obedience or the way of rebellion and destruction. God has given us His written Word for instructions for our life, and it’s our decision whether or not we will accept His instructions. The law of the Lord includes all Scriptures, and the more we know of His Word, the more resources we have for our daily decisions.  It’s a sad thing for professing Christians to know more about secular events than they do of the Word of God. The Bible is our spiritual food, and just as we need natural food to have healthy bodies, we need a daily portion of the Word of God digesting in our spirit to become better Christians. As Christians, God is expecting us to grow spiritually, to bear fruit, to be stable and have knowledge of the Word of God. It’s God’s responsibility to provide and protect His people as well as bless them in their endeavors, but in order to receive the blessings God desires for us; we have to position ourselves for the blessings, and it comes as we submit ourselves to His written Word and having faith in Him and in His Word.

When God blesses His people they never have regrets, His blessings can be over-flowing, but God wants His people to seek His presence and not the present. As we set our affection for Him and His Word and follow His instructions, we will be blessed coming in and going out. Our families will be blessed, our homes will be blessed, our communities will be blessed. When we submit to God others are blessed through our submissions and blessings, just as our submission affect others our disobedience also affect others. When unbeliever sees professing Christians actions as theirs, they will continue to live in disobedience because they think it’s right because of what they see professing Christians doing. When we become stumbling blocks, it brings God’s judgment upon us.

When we live our lives according to Scripture, it brings the blessings of God in our life, God is a promise-keeping God, what He promised in His Word He will do whether it’s blessings or judgment. One can’t submit to His Word if they don’t know His Word, but it doesn’t take away the judgment because they didn’t know when He has given His written Word. God holds each person responsible for knowing Him and His Word. God’s Word is precious, not only does it gives instructions, but it brings comfort, faith, and a relationship with the Father. Get to know God and the benefits that come with true salvation. Obedience brings blessings, disobedience brings judgment.
