Stay Connected To Jesus

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind – Job 12:10.

With everything that is going on in the world, this is not the time to lose faith or live a life of hypocrisy. We don’t know the return of Jesus or when death will knock on our door, but whichever one comes first, we must be ready to meet Jesus.

So many of God’s people have fallen away from the faith and have stepped into religion, something that can’t save them nor supply their needs. False prophets and doctrines have multiplied, and many are dying without Christ being the head of their life.

Being a Christian is more than saying I believe in Jesus, and I take Him as my Savior; He must be the head of your life, meaning you will follow the instructions of the Bible, and you will allow Him to lead your everyday life.

Job was a man who loved God and feared Him; in other words, He reverenced Him as God. He didn’t try to serve God and other gods of the nations. Many have been indoctrinated to love themselves and do what makes them feel good.

God has left a manual for every Christian to read and to follow the instructions. In order to follow the instructions, the manual has to be read and applied. Too many Christians think because they have accepted Jesus as their Savior, they are free to do whatever they want, go wherever they want to go and be with whomever they desire to be with.

The manual tells a different story. First, we must love God with our heart, spirit, soul, mind, and body. When we truly love someone, we will do everything humanly possible to please them; that same tenacity should be with our God, who gave His Son for our sins.

We have been instructed that although we’re in the world, we are not of this world and should not live according to the world’s standards. Christians aren’t supposed to hate; if so, they need deliverance. God is love, and if He’s living within us, we will have love for everyone.

We have been given a new year to get things aligned with God’s Word. We must be separated from the world (Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new – 2nd Corinthians 5:17). Our thinking should be changed, desires should be different than those of the world. Our affections should be for the things of the Lord and not the things of the world.

There is nothing wrong with having money, homes, cars, and degrees, but when we place these things before God, we have made them our gods. Too many Christians are focused on what they can obtain in this world rather than building their relationship with God and His Son.

You will never see money, cars, or degrees following behind a hearse and placed in the ground with the deceased. The manual instructs us to build our spiritual house with the Word of God and live according to the instructions.

Too many Christians are full of the world and not the Word of God! Jesus is returning for His church, and He’s coming for a church that has presented themselves as a living sacrifice (And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me to give every man according to his work shall be – Revelation 22:12). What type of works are you doing? Are you working to gain more material things or working to please God? Whatever you’re placing your all into is what you will receive.

Although Jesus loves us with everlasting love, it does not mean He will not discipline us. Some of the things Christians are going through are because they have left faith and trust in their money, degrees, and things they have accomplished. God does not want us to have any other gods before Him.

God wants us to seek Him and His righteousness; this world will end; He wants us to be prepared for the coming of His Son. We stay connected to Jesus by reading, studying, and applying the Word of God to our everyday lives.

We can’t be Sunday Christians and not everyday Christians. Daily, we must align ourselves with the Word of God, seeking to please Him with our lives. Don’t allow social media, the world’s cares to disconnect you from Jesus.

Christians should be fruitful, but when they get disconnected from Jesus, they will not produce fruit (He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful – Matthew 13:22). There are shallow-hearted individuals who receive the message they hear each Sunday but have not truly been born again. Worldliness and materialism choke the Word in their life, and they are finally unfruitful. Meaning they are living as carnal Christians.

Carnal Christians will not enter heaven because they have become an enemy of the Lord (Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God – Romans 7:7-8). There is a thereafter, we need to live like Jesus is returning every day. Sin will not enter heaven, but those who strive to live according to the Word of God, He will enable them to do so.

Stay connected to Jesus and the instructions we have been given to follow. Payday is coming, and we all shall receive a reward for what we have done as Christians.
