Building Under Construction

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock – (Matthew 7:24).

This Scripture is a combination of the teaching that was given by Jesus known as “The Sermon on the Mount”.  He taught His followers the beatitudes; each beatitude tells how to be blessed. His teaching consisted of how we as Christians should be a light to the world.  He taught about the treasures of the heart, the light of the body, trusting one master, judging, the golden rule. How to enter into the kingdom of God, false prophets, the consequence of living in iniquity and His concluding illustration of the two foundations.

When building a house, you must have tools, patience, and a plan. The building starts with the foundation and footing.  The footing is the lower part of the structure and carries the entire load of the house.  You will need to do the floor framing and sheathing, the walls and roof.  This is the beginning of building a house. Spiritually, we need tools which are the Word of God,  patience in our spiritual growth, and a plan to grow into spiritual maturity.  In order to grow spiritually, we must deny the things the world has to offer for pleasure and self-seeking.

We are God’s building (For we are laborers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building – 1st Corinthians 3:9).  When the Spirit of the Lord comes to make our bodies His dwelling place, He renovates the building and restores it to its original state of holiness. Many times we’re going through difficulties because God is cleaning out the old stuff so He can bring in the Fruit of the Spirit, the Gifts of the Spirit.  Apostle Paul instruction’s for the believer was to continue in the faith, in this faith walk we must go through many tribulations to enter into the kingdom of God  (Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom o God  –  Acts 14:22).  God will never allow anything to come into your life to destroy you, but to build you. As long as we’re living, we will be under construction until God sees the reflection of His Son manifesting in and through us.

The difficulties and issues we go through are not because God has abandoned us; some come because of cause and effect in other words things we have done or allowed to be done. We will never have anyone to love us as God loves us. His love for His people is for everlasting. We go through troublesome times to build our faith in God.  Whatever is in us that does not line up with the Word of God and our desire is to please God, He will allow whatever it takes to bring us to our knees.  Prayer brings us to a closer relationship with God, prayer strengthens our faith and brings about holy boldness to speak the Word of God and live according to the Word of God.

God wants to look at us and see the reflection of His Son in us. He allows the building to be inspected by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit reveals the spots in our garment, as we go to the Word of God it cleanses spots in our behavior, character, and emotions. The building is continually being under construction until the Father calls us home.  Don’t faint, don’t worry, allow God to construct the building the way He wants it to be.  We are in the hands of the Potter, and His molding and shaping us the way He wants us to be.
