Wars and Rumors of Wars

And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet – Matthew 24:6.

At this present time two nations are at war, Jesus forewarned His disciples of what would happen prior to His return to receive His church, the bodies believers in Jesus Christ. What’s happening now is just the beginning of what is about to happen!

Jesus was talking to His disciples during His dispensation on the earth and His disciples of today to notice different events that would happen in the world prior to His return for His church. We have been warned not to be deceived by people calling themselves to be Christ, false Christs’ would come deceiving many to follow them. He warned that there would be wars and rumors of wars. Nations rising against nations indicating wars on a broad or worldwide scale.

We were foretold there would be famines, pestilences, earthquakes in various places, people would be hating one another, false prophets will be on the horizon, and lawlessness to the point that the love of many shall grow cold. After the gospel of the kingdom has been taught to all nations then shall the end come, meaning after these events shall be a great tribulation that has never happened before and there will never be another one like it.

Because of those that have been chosen; meaning they have accepted salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the tribulation days shall be shortened; if not no one would be saved. In no other period of historical past or future of the world will there be so much suffering and universal destruction as during the seven years called the Great Tribulation. These years will be with wrath, judgment, darkness, indignation, desolation, gloominess, and sorrow for those that rejected salvation by Jesus as well as those that profess to be Christians but live according to the world standards, the Bible calls them carnal Christians.

No one knows the date of Jesus’ return until He comes, still, there are certain things happening in our world to suggest that His return may be close, such as Israel’s return to the Promised Land; the oblivious accelerations of lawlessness, increase of apostasy, the social religious climate preparing for the one-world church; the rapid acceleration of life-threatening conditions such as potential atomic annihilation, population explosion, and pollution that require Jesus’ return before event run their natural course and terminate the world.

Christians that are truly Christians will be taken out of the world prior to these events (For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then those which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord – 1st Thessalonians 4:16-17).

This is not the time to be seeking fame, fortune, prestige, and riches none of these things can save you from the wrath of God, neither professing to be a Christian but living like a non-believer; these are called carnal Christians and they are enmity with God (Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God – Romans 8:7-8). This is why Jesus states those that worship God but worship Him in spirit and in truth. We can’t pick and choose Scriptures we want to believe or adhere to.

Those that are led by the Spirit are the children of God (For as many are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God – Romans 8:14). In order to please God, we must mortify our flesh, meaning separating ourselves from the sinful deeds of the flesh such as lying, cheating, hatred, fornication, adultery, worshiping other gods, listening and watching things we shouldn’t be doing as Christians.

Because some actions aren’t described in the Bible as sin, people think certain actions committed are not wrong; this is why we must be born of the Spirit of God to understand what is not written in the Bible does not give the Christian permission to do it. If it does not agree with our spirit then we will know we shouldn’t carry out these actions. When we’re conformed to the world rather than being conformed to the Word of God we see nothing wrong with our actions. The Spirit of God within us will witness with our spirit that what we’re doing is not acceptable to God.

The Bible is our instruction booklet for the Christian, and being born of the Spirit of God is a witness to true salvation. One that has been born of the Spirit of God no longer desires to do, listen, or hear the things the world is offering, it is an offense to them by the Spirit of God living within their being.

In order to escape the things that are about to come upon the world, we must be saved. Meaning we believe God is God, and Jesus is the Son of God. We believe that Jesus died for our sins, and God raised Him from the dead. We ask God to forgive us for the sins we have committed against Him. We ask Jesus to save us, and we submit ourselves to Him. We believe in our heart that we are saved, we confess with our mouth we’re saved. One is not saved by his mouth confession, but rather the mouth testifies readily of the grace of God in Christ which has been received by faith.

After salvation is accepted, then we’re on our spiritual journey with the Lord. We take time to read and study His Word. We apply the Word of God to our daily activities and living. We fast and pray, we find a church home and we assemble ourselves with other believers. As we grow the Fruit of the Spirit will be manifest in us, the gifts of the Spirit will be manifested through us and we will be a blessing to others and will be a citizen of heaven.
