For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now, if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble. Every man’s work shall be made manifest for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is – 1st Corinthians 3:11-13.
Using the right foundation will enable a building structure to last for years without caving in because of wind, storms, floods, or other natural causes. But when the foundation is not right, the building sometimes will cave in without natural causes because it has the wrong foundation.
About twenty years ago or more, when the word Christian was mentioned, people looked at Christianity as it was described in the Bible, sanctification to the Lord. As the years passed, some of the leaders and church members began to be influenced by the world rather than the church influencing the world.
Some went as far as saying it doesn’t take all that to be a Christian. Church leaders and members started turning their heads to known sin in them and in the camp of professing believers. Leaders wanted to grow their congregations, have a large choir, and have professional musicians even if they were not Christians. With that, the Spirit of God left many churches; although they were still dancing, shouting, and clapping their hands, they were doing it in their emotions because the presence of God had left the building.
Satan imitates what God does, so some choir members, musicians, and congregants think they can live any way they want to and God will be at the church; rather than God’s Spirit is there, Satan’s spirit is there, and he’s using the musicians, the choir. The choir sounds, the music sounds good the people are worshiping, but they aren’t worshiping God, but the god of this world.
He has blinded the eyes of those in the congregation who will not come up for prayer to be delivered, and many churches have stopped asking people to come up for prayer to live a separate life to God; they think they are fine just where they are. The church is where God’s people should be able to come and receive deliverance and healing. But if the Spirit of God is not there, they will leave the church with the same sin and sickness they came to church with.
Something is wrong when those who practice sin can feel content in church with their sin. When the Spirit of God is in a church, those who are practicing sin will either conform to godliness which is the Word of God, or they will leave that church because they can’t be content in their sin when the Spirit of God is in the church.
In many churches, the foundation is no longer Jesus and His doctrine but intellectual, financial, or educational status. There is nothing wrong with having any of these when they are placed in the right perspective.
People attend church faithfully but have no relationship with God nor His Son. They know of Him but don’t know Him. Congregants aren’t being taught about sin, hell, or sanctification. Sanctification is for every denomination.
Just as God instructed Moses to get sin out of the camp, He’s telling the leaders to confront sin, and remove it from the camp, if they want the Spirit of God there; if not, there will be a spirit there, but it will not be the Spirit of God. God will not abide in a church that compromises with sin.
The God we serve is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not changes neither does His Word. As Christians, we have been instructed to come out from the world’s actions and be separated from their actions (Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you – 2nd Corinthians 6:17).
Leaders are responsible for teaching and preaching the consequences of sin. When was the last time you heard about seeking and receiving the Holy Spirit? When was the last time you heard that hell is real and it awaits those who reject God’s Word and its instructions?
Many churches have left the foundation, and the church, which is the body of Christ, has lost its way of seeking and searching for the things of God. We have been instructed to set our affection on things above and not the things of the earth.
The foundation must be built with God’s Word and a demonstration of true Christianity. If not, leaders will have to answer to God for their compromise, and the people’s lives will be in their hands where they will spend eternity!

The Wrong Foundation
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now, if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble.
