Part-time Worshiper

But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men – Matthew 15:9.

Today’s Christian think they can worship God on Sunday then they have done their Christian duty. But the Bible indicates every day is the day the Lord has made and it should be honored accompanied with our worship.

Many professing Christians have left their first love, and have became so involved with worldly actions, they no longer have time for God. They have placed their Bibles on the shelves until Sunday morning, and have removed Bibilical instructions from their heart.

Some may give Him time by attending Sunday Worshiper, while others rather worship Him from watching from their computer, laptop or phone. They have forsaken themselves from the church and their spiritual sisters and brothers.

Christian will take one day to worship the Lord, but Monday through Saturday they will give time and love to the world. They will not pray nor will they read their Bibles, and they sometimes wonder why they don’t have a connection with the Lord.

In order to grow spiritually we must spend time with God. How would you like if your spouse told you, I will only see you on Sunday all the other days I have something to do? The marriage would crumble, because you have given your love and your time to someone other than your spouse.

We build our relationship with the Father by spending time reading and studying His Word. Every professing Christian should pray and read their Bible on a daily basis. The Bible is God speaking to you through His written Word.

Jesus instructed His disciples to always pray (And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint -Luke 18:1). How is it, we can spend time doing whatever we want, but never have the time to spend with the One we say we worshiper?

How can we be His disciples and we don’t have an inkling of His insttructions? We can’t follow instructions if we don’t know them. Not knowing them will cause you to enter hell because He has set it up that you can read His instructions, you can go to church and hear his instructions.

God knows we have to work, we have obligations we must do, but to be a Christians and never have time with God is a sign you’re serving Him part-time. Did you know that part-time Christians will enter hell because they have became lovers of the world (Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him -1st John 2:15).

Part-time worshipers are easily influenced to sin. Everyone are tempted with sin, each are tempted differently according to their individual weaknesses. Temptations follow a pattern, they appeal to three fundamental areas of life (1) lust of the flesh, physical desires, (2) lust of the eyes, personal desires; (3) pride of life, self-interests.

Christians are looking, listening, going to the same places as non-believers, this shouldn’t be as Christians. Christians want to do the same thing as non-believes, and yet profess to be Christians. Just like you don’t want a part-time spouse, God does not want part-time worshipers. Either you’re with Him or you’re not!

As Christians, we suppose to set our affections on things of above, meaning we must continually discipline ourselves to focus on eternal realities, instead of temporal realities of the world. A Christian’s life should no longer be dictated by the world, but transformed by the Word of God.

This is why Christians have been instructed to come out of the world’s thinking and actions (Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you -2nd Corinthians 6:17). The preacher didn’t say this, the Lord Himself have said it, and He’s looking for His people to follow His instructons, Sunday through Saturday.

Time is winding up, people are dying daily, and the majority of them are not heaven bound. If you want to enter Heaven, you must live like it. Take the time to pray, read and study the Bible, and most of all, apply what you read to your daily life.
