God’s Love

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3:16.

To believe is more than an intellectual agreement that Jesus is the Son of God; it means to put our trust and confidence in Him and that He alone can save us.

It’s not about our good works or how much we give or attend church.  We can’t do anything that will make us worthy of saving other than the Father’s love for us. Salvation comes through Jesus; through Him alone can one be saved and reconciled to the Father.

God has unconditional love for us; thank God it’s not about us but Him. God sets the pattern of unconditional love by allowing His Son to die for our sin who committed no sin. We can’t commit any greater sin except blaspheme against the Holy Spirit.

Blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin, and we wouldn’t receive forgiveness. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is lying to or on the Holy Spirit. We can tempt, vex, grieve, and quench the Holy Spirit and receive forgiveness, but not if we blaspheme.

God loves everyone and desires everyone to accept His Son’s salvation. There is no other way to enter God’s kingdom but by accepting His Son. God doesn’t remind us of our past sins, but people will. Once we accept Jesus as our Savior, our sins are behind us, not to be spoken about or reminded anymore.

God wants us to join Him in His kingdom to live forever, but we must accept Jesus and accept and abide by the instructions God has given us through His written Word. Sometimes the adversary will try to influence us that no one cares about us; always remember, God’s love never changes, and He will love us until we pass from this life to a life with Him in the kingdom of God.

God’s love is not dependent on our actions, whether we live a righteous or ungodly life, His love for us never changes, but an ungodly lifestyle will cause one to enter into hell where there will be no exit. There will be no excuse; God gave His Son for the redemption of our sins; all one has to do is accept salvation and decide to live according to God’s Word.

God has not given a commandment we can’t do. He has not told us to live by the Ten Commandments because He knew no one could apply them all. Jesus came to fulfill the Law and gave the commandment to love God and our neighbors.

Now to love God, the Spirit of God must abide in us to empower us to love Him. The Spirit enters when we accept salvation and as we commit ourselves to God; He then baptizes us with His Holy Spirit. The baptism is once, but there are many refillings.

God loves us so much until He gives us His divine nature to live according to His Word (Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust – 2nd Peter 1:4). If we have His divine nature; we will not practice anything that is the opposite of His divine nature.

Just because God loves you does not mean He will not discipline you. He will continue to draw you, but if one continues to draw away from Him, then He will turn you over to a reprobate (And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobated mind, to do those things which are not convenient – Romans 1:28). God will never make anyone love Him or serve Him, God does not need us, we need Him.

We don’t have to turn cartwheels, dot every I, and cross every T for God to love us; His love is unconditional, but we do have to apply our lifestyle to His instructions. The wages of sin are death, both spiritually and physically.

Don’t get it twisted; yes, God loves you; God is holy, and He wants His people to be holy, meaning they are set apart, living according to the Word of God. Christians’ actions are not those of the secular world. Their lifestyle coincides with God’s instructions. When you love someone, you show them your love by doing what pleases them!

God has an everlasting love for His people, but He also has an everlasting punishment for those that reject His instructions (But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death – Revelation 21:8). You don’t want to wake up in the burning section.

Just because God loves you does not mean He will allow you to enter the kingdom of God; it’s either His way or no way. He has given the instructions; it’s left to the individual to apply them.
