Doctrine

If there come any unto you. and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed. For he that biddeth him, Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds – 2nd John Verses 10-11.

This doctrine refers to the Christian belief that Jesus is God come in the flesh; He is completely human and completely divine. No other doctrine expresses the deity of God or His Son, Jesus Christ.

Christians should not only refuse to receive false teachers in the sense of supporting them. As they visit the community or on Christian television or radio, Christians should also avoid appearing to endorse their teachings. The proper response to deceivers is to reject them as nonbelievers.

False teachers will only accept Jesus as a good man or a prophet rather than accepting Him as the Son of God and as God in Divinity. Some worship Mary and pray to her rather than praying to God in the name of His Son. Others have gotten caught up in color and have also fallen into false doctrine. God has never esteemed one group of people over another.

People are praying to gods who can’t hear, speak, or answer their prayers. The god they serve can’t heal or deliver them or supply their needs, but because rebellion is in the heart and spirit, they pray to a false god rather than the true God.

The majority of false doctrines will have portions of Scripture in their doctrines. People fall into false doctrine when they don’t seek God for themselves but listen to others to teach them about God. ( And ye shall seek Me, and find Me when you shall search for Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). They don’t pray or read the Bible for themselves to seek out the truth about God or His Word.

When one comes to God in the sincerity of wanting to know Him, and not just intellectual knowledge of Him, He will meet them where they are and show Himself to them in different ways that they will know this is God and not just something they thought up.

When reading the Bible prayerfully, God will give revelation of His Word; His written Word changes people from the inside out. His Word changes their heart and spirit; once the heart changes, the thinking is different, and the mind becomes transformed into the Word of God, which will bring about Christian living.

Satan is the god of this world, and it is he that brings about false doctrine. Just like God has children, Satan also has children. God has ministers; Satan has ministers (And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works – 2nd Corinthians 11:15).

As long as Satan can keep people blinded to the truth, there will always be false doctrines. God has left His written instructions; it’s everyone’s responsibility to learn what it says and follow the instructions. Satan is a deceiver, and he’s subtle. Just like he influenced Adam and Eve to eat from the forbidden tree after God had given them instructions not to eat the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil, they did the opposite of God’s instructions.

God delivered the children of Israel out of bondage and led them through the Red Sea; they walked on dry ground. Because Moses stayed in the mountain longer than they thought he should have, they asked Aaron to make them a god, a cow, when they knew it wasn’t a cow that led them through the Red Sea.

Because rebellion has been transferred down through generations from Adam and Eve, rebellion is in the heart of mankind. God is the only one that can change the heart and spirit. The Bible gives us knowledge of the characteristics of God and His Son.

The Bible gives instructions on how to worship and serve Him. It also gives instructions on how to avoid hell. It gives instructions on how to live a life with the blessings of God upon it. God is God, and there is no other God besides Him. He’s from eternity. He’s self-existence, the Ancient of Days, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

The breath you breathe is His. He’s the giver of life and has given each of us an appointed time to meet death. Take the time and read the Bible for yourself, ask God to give you understanding and revelation of His Word, and also ask Him to help you to follow His instructions.
